Fans of The Office watched the characters fall in and out of love for years. The actors also made real connections while working on the show. Kate Flannery talked about finding her partner, and she isn’t the only one who made a connection during the show.

Kate Flannery found love while working on ‘The Office’

Kate Flannery played Meredith Palmer on The Office. Her character wasn’t against getting drunk on the job, or hooking up with her co-workers. Meredith never got a love interest on the show, but Flannery did find someone.

She met her boyfriend, Chris Haston. “He is the greatest,” Flannery said, according to People. “We met on The Office! He’s an NBC photographer. I’m so lucky, I have amazing support.”

The actor added, “Chris and I, we’ve been together for 13 years. I’m a late bloomer in love, in career, in everything. I say later is better because you’re more calm, wiser, you get to enjoy it all with more gratitude.”

Chris Haston showed her support during ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Flannery decided to compete on Dancing with the Stars for season 28. She talked about how Haston was supportive of her at the time.

“I was not very available since August, since the rehearsals started so he was very patient and he came to every show and sat in the front row, so it was just lovely,” she told Closer Weekly.

The funny actor later said they wanted to continue dancing. “Chris is now excited to start dancing and I want to keep it up! But also just the gifts of being together but then also being far apart, it’s like you have to have patience with each other and just really cherish the moments when you’re together,” she said.

Flannery isn’t the only one who made a connection in real life while on the show. Mindy Kaling, who played Kelly Kapoor, and B.J. Novak, who played Ryan Howard, became close while working together. Novak claimed their characters having a relationship was somewhat inspired by them.

He told Vulture it was “an observation from the writers’ room that Mindy and I were extremely close and constantly fighting.” The writer said their relationship status was kind of confusing.

“No one, including us, ever really knew, ‘Is this dating? Is this not dating?’” he said. “We were never really dating, we were never really not dating. We didn’t know. No one knew. All you’d know for sure as that you’d always find one of us next to the other, even if we weren’t getting along.”

Kaling and Novak are still friends to this day. It looks like the show brought many people together.
