When did Amy Adams first appear in ‘The Office’?

Adams plays Katy Moore in The Office in three episodes in total. The series is a mockumentary about a group of employees working together at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The manager, named Michael Scott (Steve Carell), allows Katy to sell her purses in the office in her first appearance on the show in season 1, episode 6, called “Hot Girl.”

When Michael first hears about someone trying to sell purses there in the office, he isn’t having it, that is until he sees her. Katy is allowed to use the conference room to sell her products, even making an HR meeting be held in the hallway instead so Katy can have her space to sell the bags.

‘The Office’: Why Jim and Pam’s Relationship Was So Captivating

Men in the office try to talk to Katy, including Michael, who lays it on quite thick. But Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) is the one who starts dating her. Katy appears in three episodes, and her relationship with Jim happens before he and Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) start their relationship.

Katy dates Jim

Katy reveals to the cameras that men are her “best customers” for her purses, and that’s plain to see when Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) tries to talk to her and ends up buying a purse. He even asks her out, but she says no. And when Katy doesn’t have a ride home, Michael tries to take her home, and she initially accepts. But Jim actually ends up taking her home and out for a drink, sparking a relationship between them.

Katy appears in two more episodes and dates Jim for a little while. In season 2, episode 4, called “The Fire,” she comes around for lunch when the office staff has to evacuate due to a fire alarm going off. But in another episode, Katy is mentioned, and Jim reveals he hasn’t spoken to her. However, he brings her with him on a date in season 2, episode 11, called “Booze Cruise.” But Jim breaks things off after getting emotional over his feelings for Pam.

Amy Adams’ first appearance in The Office is arguably her best. It’s a shame she couldn’t have been in more episodes.
