The One Royal Family Member People Still Can’t Stand

While many fans all over the world follow the lives of the British royal family, some members are definitely more popular than others. Whether or not it is always legitimate, the court of public opinion has made up its mind about the royal family, including Camilla Parker Bowles.

The Duchess of Cornwall has been married to Prince Charles for a number of years now, but she can’t seem to shake the reputation that she first established in the ’90s.

Why does the public not like Camilla Parker Bowles?

The public’s relationship with Camilla began when Charles and Princess Diana were still married, although reportedly, Charles and Camilla had been involved for many years prior to the royal marriage. Once Charles and Diana went public with their split, Camilla was brought into it, and soon, people all over the world labeled the older woman as a homewrecker in spite of Charles’ equal involvement.

Complicating matters was the fact that people everywhere loved Diana and didn’t want to see her unhappy. Tabloids pitted Diana against Camilla, and the press was quick to take sides in the royal family’s drama. Of course, everyone now knows how that story ended. Diana’s untimely death in a car crash and Charles eventually marrying his longtime lady friend in April 2005.

The marriage of Charles and Camilla seemed to reopen old wounds. Many royal fans became upset that Charles would dare to marry again after the tragic death of Diana. Camilla hired a specialist to try and reinvent her image with the British public. However, it doesn’t seem to have made much of a difference. That fact is illustrated in a new poll.

Is Camilla Parker Bowles the least popular royal family member?

Camilla is undoubtedly aware of the public’s attitude toward her. However, has dedicated much of her time to charity since marrying Charles. She is actively involved with over 90 charities, including organizations for domestic violence and women’s empowerment. It seems that she has been working hard to try and change the perception of her character.

Sadly, her efforts to improve her public image don’t seem to have worked. A recent poll revealed that Camilla is the least popular member of the royal family. She only has a 24% approval rating. Her rating is even more shocking when compared to popular royals like Kate Middleton, who has a 62% approval rating. Camilla’s low approval rating complicates the fact that she is set to become queen when Charles becomes king.

What does the rest of the royal family think of Camilla Parker Bowles?

While the public might have a hard time reconciling their feelings towards Camilla, it seems as though the royal family doesn’t share those views. Reportedly, the queen gets along quite well with her daughter-in-law. She even approves of her becoming the queen consort when Charles ultimately takes the throne. Royal sources claim that Camilla is quite close with both Kate and Meghan Markle. It seems that Meghan views Charles as somewhat of a father figure due to her difficult relationship with her own father. She is reported to have spent a great deal of time with both Charles and Camilla.

Unfortunately, the public’s view of Camilla might never change. Ultimately, all that matters is that Camilla has a happy, healthy home life and that she is able to cultivate loving relationships with those in her inner circle.
