Ree Drummond remembers old stores at the mall

What makes Drummond and The Pioneer Woman a success is that she is so relatable. The red-head star connects with her fans sharing content that everyone can find engaging, it just happens to be that Drummond is on TV. While sharing a preview of an episode of her cooking show where she makes potato skins, she went down memory lane and remembered her time hanging out at the mall.

“Something as simple as a potato skin sends me on a trip down memory lane, where the mall/flirting excursions happened weekly and the good judgment was scarce,” she shared on Instagram. “I miss Spencer’s Gifts! And what was the name of the music store where we bought tapes? I’d give anything for an Orange Julius.”

Drummond also remembered that her mother “got mad” at her when she bought a t-shirt from a novelty shop called Spencer’s. The top seemingly hard a word that was not suitable to be wearing around.

“In my defense, I was 15 and didn’t understand what the word meant,” Drummond added.

‘The Pioneer Woman’ fans share their stories at the mall

After Drummond shared her post, it wasn’t long before fans jumped into the conversation and remember their own experiences at the mall.

“Orange Julius was my favorite. The lemonade at the hotdog on a stick place was pretty good too though,” a fan replied.

“Spencer’s! I learned a lot in that store that my momma wouldn’t tell me!” a follower added.

“Omgosh! One of my boys and I were talking about Spencer’s gifts and how he now understands what a shirt meant that he saw there years ago! There is one at an outlet shopping center an hour away from us. Still crazy stuff there and more,” an Instagram user shared.

“Oh, yummy Orange Julius!! I have a craving!! The chili dogs were awesome! When I sold real estate, most agents headed for a steak house after a closing… I headed to the Mall for Orange Julius! my special treat!” another fan commented.

“Ree that is so funny, I remember Spencer Gifts also. Had to worry about taking the kids in there. Pretty racy stuff,” another follower mentioned.

“Spencer’s glow in dark T-shirt, lava lamps. MEMORIES here in Central Louisiana,” another Instagram shared.
