Kaley Cuoco and her husband, Karl Cook, may have previously adopted the “living apart” trend, but they’re now trading in this lifestyle to finally cohabit as husband and wife.

More than one year after tying the knot, the lovebirds are ready to live under the same roof as they prepare to move into their dream house any day now.

While Cuoco previously explained why she and Cook lived apart after getting married, there is an understandable reason why they waited this long to set up house together.

The couple was waiting to move into their dream home together

Cuoco and Cook may love each other deeply, but living together was something they didn’t want to happen until the time was right.

Since exchanging nuptials in June 2018, the Big Bang Theory actress and her husband have maintained separate residences since they weren’t in a rush to make their marriage more traditional.

Though Cuoco previously admitted that living apart worked well for her and Cook, it appears that the couple’s ready to take the next step in their relationship and officially move into the same house.

While sitting down with Access Hollywood Mar. 9, the actress revealed that she and her equestrian hubby are finally moving into their first home together.

Though this move has been long-awaited, it turns out that the reason Cuoco and Cook lived apart for such an extended amount of time was because they were waiting for their L.A. dream home to finish being built.

“We are built, we are so excited,” she said. “We haven’t spent an evening in it yet. Actually Karl has been at home and I said ‘Why don’t you stay at the house?’ but he’s waiting for me to get there and have all the animals there.”

As for when their move-in date is, Cuoco says that it’s right around the corner.

“When I wrap in April, that will be our first time in our new house,” she added. “We are going steady. He gave me his letterman jacket and we are moving in together.”

Though living with your significant other for the first time can cause reservations to arise, the actress admits that she’s looking forward to starting this next chapter in her life with Cook.

“I’m actually excited. We’re totally ready, you know,” she recently told Us Weekly. “We do both travel a lot, which I think is very healthy. Our time at home is minimal, which makes us super appreciate it.”

Cuoco and Cook have an “unconventional marriage”

Though they are the definition of a picture-perfect couple, Cuoco recently admitted that not having an entirely traditional marriage is what makes her relationship with Cook rock-solid.

“We have a very unconventional marriage. We have different locations that we are at a lot,” she told E! News in August 2019. “We are not together every single day, and I think personally, it’s important. It works well for us.”

Though living together was always part of their plans, Cuoco recently explained on The View that she and Cook were living apart “because of work and his business and his horses are a few hours away from where I was currently living.”

Although constantly being separated from your significant other might not sound ideal to some, Cuoco admitted that being apart from Cook made their relationship more robust in the end.

“We just haven’t been under the same roof. But by the way, it’s been working great and we love it,” she continued. “We love it, so I don’t know why people have such an issue.”
