The ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot: Is Bridget Moynahan Reprising Her Role as Natasha in ‘And Just Like That…’?
A clearer picture of the storyline for the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That…, is starting to come into view. While HBO Max announced the project in January, they have kept things very quiet. Now that the cast is filming scenes in New York City, snippets of information are starting to leak. Photos from the July 19 shoot just revealed that Bridget Moynahan is involved.
Who did Bridget Moynahan portray in ‘Sex and the City’?
Moynahan’s involvement in the series is a bit of a surprise. The famed actor spent two seasons portraying Natasha in Sex and the City. She first appeared in season 2 as Mr. Big’s new girlfriend. During season 3, the relationship deepened, and Big and Natasha got married in The Hamptons.
Their marriage was not meant to be. By the middle of season 3, Carrie and Mr. Big were carrying on an affair. Natasha caught Carrie leaving the apartment she shared with Big, effectively putting an end to the affair and their marriage. She was last seen in the season 3 episode, “What Goes Around Comes Around.”

Moynahan last portrayed Natasha in 2000. 21 years later, it seems like she’s ready to pick up the role again. Photographers camped outside of And Just Like That… ‘s filming locations spied Moynahan arriving on set. They also caught her speaking with showrunner Michael Patrick King as they walked into a building together. The nature of her role remains unknown.
Since first appearing in Sex and the City, Moynahan has starred in several high-profile projects. Blue Bloods, for example, has been especially successful. The series has filmed more than 200 episodes. Moynahan has appeared in all episodes thus far.
What Does Moynahan’s inclusion in the ‘Sex and the City’ reboot mean for Mr. Big and Carrie’s marriage?
Moynahan’s inclusion in the series seems to indicate something is going on between Carrie and Mr. Big, but it does not look like she’ll be swooping in to steal back her man. In photos captured from the set, Moynahan’s character appears to be wearing a wedding ring. Presumably, the exceedingly dull Natasha found someone more suited to her.
When fans last left Natasha “Nijinsky,” as Carrie liked to call her, she was still pretty irritated about Carrie’s affair with Mr. Big. It has been a lot of years since she lost a tooth chasing Carrie down the stairs, though. Perhaps both Natasha and Carrie have moved past the awkwardness and can be friends. If rumors about the state of Big and Carrie’s marriage are to be believed, they might even be able to commiserate with each other. HBO Max is keeping a tight lid on Moynahan’s involvement in the series, so fans will have to wait to see just how much screen time she gets.
