‘The Talk’: Who Will Replace Sharon Osbourne?

The Talk is down from five co-hosts to four following Sharon Osbourne’s departure from the show. The former reality star had been on the panel for over a decade before her exit in March, which came amid controversy and accusations of misconduct by Osbourne on the show.

The program has been on hiatus ever since, but it’s set to resume on Monday, April 12. One thing that’s still unclear, however, is whether Sharon Osbourne will be replaced. Representatives for Osbourne did not return our requests for comment, but here’s what we know.

Will ‘The Talk’ replace Sharon Osbourne? It’s hard to tell at this point

As of writing, there hasn’t been any official word about a possible replacement for Osbourne. But a source told The Sun that for now, the show allegedly plans to stick with the four remaining panelists: Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, Elaine Welteroth, and Amanda Kloots.

“The show will return to air without a fifth host,” the source said. “Mrs. O is irreplaceable. She is a unique, outspoken talent that doesn’t exist anywhere else. There is no obvious heir apparent to take her seat right now,” the source continued, noting the program is dealing with “issues of ratings and budget.”

But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. As the insider explained, “The staff has to plan a first show back that addresses the incident in a way that satisfies viewers and sets the course for what the show is going forward without Mrs. O. This is the biggest challenge the show has ever faced and unfortunately we are not operating on the best cylinders.”

In the meantime, fans have named the best possible replacements for Sharon Osbourne on ‘The Talk’

While there might not be an immediate plan to hire another co-host, fans have floated plenty of names they feel could be good fits for the show.

As the entertainment website MEAWW notes, one Twitter user pointed out reality star Ts Madison Hinton. “[She] is an LGBTQ+ rights activist. She is a transgender woman, and would certainly make the [cast] much more diverse,” read the tweet.

Another person named the outspoken Kathy Griffin, who does have experience on the talk show circuit. She famously hosted The View back in 2007 following Rosie O’Donnell’s exit, but her stint was brief.

But it was Marie Osmond who seemed to get the most votes. Fans will remember Osmond joined The Talk in 2019 as the replacement for Sara Gilbert but left after just one season. “Since Sharon isn’t coming back, maybe CBS should beg Marie to come back to regain their viewership,” another Twitter user said.

Who knows what will happen when it comes to whether to replace Osbourne. But if another co-host does join the show, here’s hoping things go a little smoother for them.
