Inside HBO’s ‘The Undoing’

Based on  Jean Hanff Korelitz’s 2014 novel You Should Have Known, The Undoing is a nail-biting murder mystery that follows Kidman as Dr. Grace Fraser, a successful therapist living in New York City with her husband, Dr. Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant), a renowned doctor and their teen son Henry (Noah Jupe).

The Frasers’ world begins to spiral out of control when a young mother from Henry’s prestigious Reardon school, Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis), is found bludgeoned to death, and Jonathan becomes the prime suspect.

Over the course of six episodes, Jonathan, Grace, Henry, Elena’s husband, Fernando Alves (Ismael Cruz Córdova), and Grace’s father, Franklin (Donald Sutherland), all begin to look suspicious.

The beach house on ‘The Undoing’ is massive

In an attempt to retreat from the chaos of her life and the city’s spotlight, Grace and Henry head to their family beach house. Located in East Marion, New York, which is just a two-hour drive from New York City, the lush beach house sits on three acres of land and has 300 feet of private beach. It also has a 50-by-16 swimming pool.

There is enough space for 13 people to fit comfortably in the space with six bedrooms and four bathrooms. A tower is attached to the home that boasts panoramic views and has an optional seventh bedroom. Still, considering what went down at the beach house on The Undoing, we’re not sure how settled we’d feel visiting the property.

‘The Undoing’ beach house can be rented on Airbnb

If you ever want to channel the Frasers, and honestly, we’re not sure why you would, The Undoing beach house can be rented on Airbnb. However, listed at $1,100 per night, the “Bohemian Old Life Saving Station with Beach & Pool” is going to cost you a pretty penny.

According to Dirt, the home is owned by film and TV director Jesse Peretz, who has helmed everything from Girls to GLOW and his wife Sarah Sophie Flicker.

The couple reportedly purchased the home back in 2007 for $2.58 million. In fact, you probably recognize the house if you loved Girls. In the Season 3 episode entitled “Beach House,” Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshana visited the house for a weekend getaway.
