Blake Shelton is one of the biggest country music stars in the world, well known for his brash, outspoken personality and his honky-tonk ballads, including “Honey Bee” and “‘Ol Red.” Shelton’s story is one that is truly inspiring to fans, and his romance with Gwen Stefani has become one of the biggest celebrity love stories of the decade. When it comes to his music career, Shelton doesn’t have any diva-like demands — even in regard to his list of backstage snack and beverage requirements.

Blake Shelton’s rags-to-riches story

Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma, in 1976. His father worked as a used car salesman, while his mother was a beauty salon owner.

Raised in a tightly-knit family, Shelton found himself drawn to music at a very early age, and began writing and performing songs well before he was a teenager. His family encouraged his talent, and his uncle even taught him how to play the guitar.

After Shelton graduated from high school, he decided to pursue music as a career. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, the epicenter of the country music business.

However, it took a few years for Shelton’s career to take off, and he worked at a music publishing company for several years before landing a production contract of his own. In fact, it wasn’t until the early 2000s that Shelton’s music began to get airplay.

By 2003, Shelton had become a rising star in the music industry, and his song “Austin” became a major hit.

In 2007, Shelton released his fourth studio album, The Dreamer. By this time, Shelton had earned the respect of music critics and accumulated a massive fan base. He had also nurtured a catalog of popular songs, from “Hillbilly Bone” to “Drink On It.”

In addition to his music, Shelton’s personal life frequently made headlines, most notably, his relationship with Miranda Lambert, a fellow country music star. The two dated for years before getting married in grand fashion, and ultimately, splitting amidst a cloud of controversy.

In 2011, Shelton gained recognition from a whole new audience when he began appearing as a judge on The Voice. He has become one of the most popular stars of the singing competition show and has been a series mainstay ever since.

Shelton has experienced a lot of life changes on The Voice, including the dissolution of his marriage to Lambert and the beginning of his romance with Gwen Stefani. Shelton’s star has also risen in the industry, and he is now considered to be one of the giants of country music, taking his place alongside legends like Alan Jackson and George Strait.

Shelton has gained a reputation as a low-key, unpretentious performer, and backstage demands truly spotlight that. According to a report from Business Insider, Shelton has a very particular list of items that he requires backstage before he makes an appearance.

The list includes items like coffee from Starbucks as well as Dunkin Donuts, Bud Lite beer, Miller Lite beer, two bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon red wine, three three-packs of Blue Orbitz gum, one package of peppered or teriyaki beef jerky, and one bag of Hershey’s Chocolate Minis.

Shelton’s unusual list also features some truly country-star worthy snack options: Cheetos and barbeque Lays potato chips. While other stars are known to have much more bizarre demands, Shelton’s list displays not only his country roots but his preference for living humble.
