As HBO’s The White Lotus heads into the final episode, several solid theories exist about who dies on vacation. The only person viewers know that lives is Shane Patton (Jake Lacy). However, the self-absorbed husband of Rachel (Alexandra Daddario) is the last person fans want to survive. Take a look at these fan theories: who dies and how in the final episode of The White Lotus?

‘The White Lotus’: Quinn Mossbacher dies

Many fan theories point to the death of Quinn Mossbacher (Fred Hechinger) in The White Lotus Episode 6. The foreshadowing of his ultimate demise began when he couldn’t breathe after he slept in the tiny kitchenette area in White Lotus Episode 1. Since that moment, Quinn decided to sleep on the beach every night, losing his electronic devices in the next episode.

His family doesn’t know where he is for much of the vacation. However, viewers see that it’s always somewhere near the water. Quinn and his father, Mark (Steve Zahn), became certified in scuba diving; however, their first dive got pushed back to the last episode. It looks ominous for the teen boy.

“His entire arc is learning to enjoy real life,” one viewer wrote on Reddit. “They constantly show waves crashing on rocks with eerie music, which makes me think it’s gonna be a drowning.”

Could Shane’s mom die in ‘The White Lotus’?

Other viewers believe that Shane’s mother, Kitty (Molly Shannon), might be the one who dies in The White Lotus. If you rewatch episode 3, Kitty discusses how she doesn’t remember the wedding at all when she arrives. Is the odd case of memory loss indicated that she has a traumatic head injury in the upcoming episode? Or, is the reason Shane is so upset in the opening scene of The White Lotus Episode 1 because he thinks Rachel killed his mother?

“I think the MIL has an accident and falls off a cliff or something, and Shane blames Rachel,” another Reddit viewer wrote. “It’s the last straw for Rach who leaves him.”

Armond dies in ‘The White Lotus’

Many fan theories point to the resort manager, Armond (Murray Bartlett), as the person who dies in The White Lotus. However, other viewers always question why they might be flying Armond’s body to Honolulu. The easy answer is that it is a stopover for his final destination; to his family, wherever that might be. Shane seems annoyed by the body on the plane, so some fans believe it could be Armond in the casket. The resort manager angered the honeymooner every time they talked.

The latest evidence that Armond dies is the poem that he references in The White Lotus Episode 5 — “The Lotos-Eaters” by Alfred Tennyson. The resort manager quotes the verse, calling the guests at the hotel “Lotus-Eaters” because of their endless indulgence. However, he also narrates the poem indicating that he accepts death.

Could Olivia poison Paula in the final episode?

In The White Lotus Episode 6 trailer on HBO, viewers see Paula puking off the side of a boat. It begs the question, what is wrong with Paula? A thorough rewatch of the past five episodes might give clues about what she’s allergic to that Olivia might use to poison her. Plus, the reason Olivia mentions her medications and allergies so often could be foreshadowing how she dies.

“I think Olivia somehow poisons Paula after sensing that she was the reason the room was broken into,” another Redditor wrote.

Tanya’s new man, Greg, could die

Since Greg’s (Jon Gries) arrival at the White Lotus resort, fans continually suggest that he could be the one who dies. His constant coughing fits seem to be getting worse and he could have a terminal illness. However, some fans wonder if the fact that he is from the Bureau of Land Management is essential to the plot. Some Redditors wonder if he is investigating the issue between Kai’s (Kekoa Scott Kekumano) family and the resort stealing the land. However, the BLM mixup might only be there to highlight how clueless Tanya is.
