Production for Season 2 of The Wilds has officially begun and the cast of the Amazon Prime show is excited to get back to work. The show follows eight teenage girls doing their best to survive on a deserted island. However, thanks to a timeline that utilizes flashbacks, the show also allows viewers to unpack some of the many traumas that young women experience while navigating adolescence.

What are the ages of ‘The Wilds’ cast?

Because The Wilds spotlights a ton of teen issues, many fans are interested in the ages of the eight main cast members. Typically, older actors are cast to play teenagers in films and TV shows, but there have been instances where a studio will choose to employ actors who are the same age as the characters they portray. But which is the case for The Wilds? We’ve rounded up the birthdays for all eight main cast members.

Sophia Taylor Ali

Sophia Taylor Ali may be best known for her role in The Wilds cast, but her first TV role was way back in 2006. Ali plays Fatin Jadmani, a promiscuous, fashion-loving, cellist on the show. Though her character is still in high school, Ali was actually born on November 7, 1995, and is the oldest cast member.

Shannon Berry

Arguably the most grounded character on The Wilds, Dot Campbell is portrayed by Shannon Berry. Perhaps Dot’s maturity comes from having to take on adult responsibilities at a young age. Helping her deceased father navigate cancer has really forced Dot to be a realist. Berry, like her character, seems wise beyond her years and is actually the youngest in the cast, born on July 27, 1999.

Jenna Clause

Next up is Jenna Clause who plays Martha Blackburn on The Wilds. The “sweetheart” character, Martha exudes innocence with her ability to see the good in everyone. Clause is on the younger side of the cast and was born on February 20, 1999.

Reign Edwards

Portraying obsessed athlete, Rachel Reid is Reign Edwards. Edwards is another actor who has no shortage of experience in the entertainment industry. In fact, she was nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards for her work on The Bold and the Beautiful prior to being cast in The Wilds. Edwards was born on December 1, 1996.

Mia Healey

Though Mia Healey plays Southern belle, Shelby Goodkind on The Wilds, the actor actually hails from Australia. Portraying the beauty queen is Healey’s first professional role but considering she’s quite young, born on August 27, 1998, we imagine there are plenty of other roles she’ll nab in the future.

Helena Howard

Helena Howard plays Nora Reid on The Wilds and although she plays the twin sister of Edwards’ Rachel, in real life the pair are almost exactly two years apart in age. Howard was born on July 23, 1998, and like her uber-intelligent character, is a bit of a prodigy. Her work in the 2018 film Madeline’s Madeline was heralded by The New Yorker as one of the best film performances of the 21st century.

Erana James

Erana James’s character, Toni Shalifoe, is certainly capable of bringing the heat in The Wilds. The definition of a hothead, Toni is quick to anger and struggles to keep her emotions in check. James is a native of New Zealand (where the show’s first season was shot) and she was born on February 17, 1999.

Sarah Pidgeon

Last, but not least, is Sarah Pidgeon whose character, Leah Rilke, serves as the first narrator for The Wilds. Leah is highly intelligent, though her obsessive tendencies sometimes cause her to spiral. Pidgeon’s castmates have named her as the actor who is most like their character and have declared that Pidgeon always has a book in her hand. The bibliophile was born on July 7, 1996.

The cast of The Wilds may range in age from 21 to 25, but they all seem to get along famously. Clearly, age ain’t nothing but a number in this case.
