In an interview with E! News, the cast of the NBC family drama spoke of the extraordinary storylines they’ve been most proud to feature throughout the six seasons of the series.

Ventimiglia said he was most proud of telling Jack’s story regarding his experiences with alcoholism and the character’s life in Vietnam. However, he was most proud of portraying a “guy who didn’t come from a good family wanting to have a good family.”

“The fertility struggles storyline with Kate and Toby a lot of people connected to,” Sullivan admitted. He also cited other storylines that provided an important “context to begin conversations.”

However, Metz cited the “racial injustice that Randall went through” and the call to action that fans realized from the topic.

“I loved Tess’ coming out,” claimed Watson. “A lot. I mean, a lot.”

Perhaps Hartley summed up the overall feel of the cast when he said, “I mean, who would have ever thought as an actor that you get an opportunity to be on a show like this, that impacts so many people’s lives that you will never meet? What an absolute treat.”
