Fans might have loved the Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire trio in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but an even tighter friendship formed behind the scenes. Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, who played Peter Parker, MJ, and Ned Leed, wanted to get each other gifts, or even tattoos after some interviewers suggested it. And Holland loved the idea of getting tattoos with his Marvel co-stars.

Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon discussed gifting commemorative presents after ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ promo

Kelly Clarkson actually first suggested Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon get tattoos during an appearance on her show.

“We wanted to get each other, like, a commemorative gift for being in these movies,” Zendaya said on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “We’ve done these movies together, we’ve grown up together since we were like 18 years old, so we wanted to get a Spider-Man-themed, not exactly a holiday gift, but a special thing we all have.”

And then Kelly Clarkson suggested tattoos, possibly shaped like a web.

However, Holland did not react very strongly to the suggestion. He realized they should carry through with the gift plan on their last day of work together. However, despite Holland frequently visiting Zendaya on the set of Euphoria, the idea seemed to have slipped.

While Tom Holland did not react to Kelly Clarkson suggesting the tattoos with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, he really liked the idea.

During an interview on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, Holland was asked a follow-up about the commemorative gifts. The interviewer asked if they really did get tatted together after Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“Aw, I would have loved for it to be tattoos!” Holland said. Unfortunately, he admitted that the three Spider-Man: No Way Home stars could not make the gift exchange happen.

“It was a lifetime friendship, I know that’s a very lame thing to say,” Holland laughed. “But we didn’t get around to doing it.”

He explained why the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ co-stars ran out of time on getting gifts for each other

While fans might think an actors’ job finished after Marvel director Jon Watts said, ‘That’s a wrap,’ the Spider-Man: No Way Home star still had a lot of work. This ultimately led to Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon not getting gifts or tattoos.

“In all honesty, we were so busy with the press tour,” Holland admitted. “With the momentum of the film, Sony was very keen to keep us working and talking. So we didn’t have time to go out and buy each other a gift, but I’m sure we will do in the future.”

While they did not find the time to gift each other presents, the three remained close friends.

Holland remains confident that they’ll all get their Spider-Man gifts or tattoos somewhere down the line.
