TXT’s Beomgyu released a cover of ‘Wonder’

The song “Wonder” was originally released as the title track on ADOY’s 2018 EP Love. Beomgyu’s cover of the single was shared on TXT’s social media channels shortly after midnight KST on March 13.

In addition to recording the cover, Beomgyu also made a music video for the song. The music video shows Beomgyu traveling through Seoul at night while listening to “Wonder.”

According to a press release, “In the video, BEOMGYU presents his own interpretation of ‘Wonder’ in an emotional style against a background of the night views of Seoul including the Han River. BEOMGYU’s tender voice harmonizes with the band’s sound, creating a dreamlike mood.”

The TXT member also released a statement about the cover in the press release, saying, “I like ‘Wonder’ and the artist [ADOY] very much. The song is comforting and the lyrics are wonderful, so I really wanted to sing this song with my voice for MOA.”

The TXT members frequently release covers

“Wonder” is not the first cover ever released by a TXT member. The quintet often releases covers of songs as a group and as soloists.

One of the band’s notable covers includes Ariana Grande‘s song “thank u, next,” which the group dropped in 2020. Grande originally released the song in 2018 as the lead single for an album of the same name.

In November 2021, Yeonjun and Taehyun released a cover of The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s hit single “Stay.” The Kid Laroi and Bieber released the song in July 2021, and the single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Most recently, Huening Kai released a cover of Avril Lavigne’s 2002 single “Sk8er Boi.” Huening Kai dropped the cover on Feb. 19.
