TXT’s ‘minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’ is another ‘interlude’ EP

Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai debuted in 2019, and their first three albums made up The Dream Chapter album series.

In October 2020, the quintet released minisode1 : Blue Hour, a disco-pop infused standalone EP. As an album, minisode1 : Blue Hour acted as a bridge between The Dream Chapter era and TXT’s 2021 album series, The Chaos Chapter.

With The Chaos Chapter, TXT began to experiment with more genres and incorporated rock elements into their music. At the media showcase for minisode 2: Thursday’s Child, Soobin confirmed the EP is another “interlude” album before TXT move on to their next album series.

While minisode 2: Thursday’s Child is another pitstop in their discography, Yeonjun assured reporters that the EP shows listeners “how much they have grown” as artists.

‘minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’ deals with darker themes

As an album, minisode 2: Thursday’s Child follows the teen angst of The Chaos Chapter. The EP’s concept revolves around the emotions a boy feels about his first breakup. It expands on the angst felt with The Chaos Chapter and brings on more mature themes and the rawness of heartbreak.

During the media showcase, the members emphasized that “Good Boy Gone Bad” focuses on the anger one feels following a breakup. To showcase these feelings, “Good Boy Gone Bad” combines hip-hop and rock music.

Ahead of its release, minisode 2: Thursday’s Child recorded over 1.46 million pre-orders, priming it to be TXT’s first million-seller album.
