When Tyler Cameron first appeared on The Bachelorette  Season 15, fans knew he was ready to fall head over heels with Hannah Brown. Cameron was always clear with his intentions, even proposing to Brown during the finale. Nevertheless, the viewer favorite came second to Jed Wyatt. But now that it’s been over a year since the reality series aired on ABC, is Cameron ready to find love again? Recently, the Barkitecture co-host opened up about his dating life.

Tyler Cameron answers whether he was ready to get engaged on ‘The Bachelorette’

The Bachelor franchise contestants are on an accelerated timeline, as the lead is expected to get engaged after a few months of filming. Many viewers have pointed out this expectation is unrealistic for lasting relationships. But even so, some cast members truly believe in the process, including Cameron.

During an interview with Us Weekly published in August 2020, Cameron was asked whether he was truly ready to get engaged to Brown on The Bachelorette. And while Cameron was ready to take the next step on the reality series, things have changed.

“I think I was putting myself in a position to be engaged,” Cameron said. “And then I got crushed, you know, it hurt. So now, I’m kind of easing away from relationships, working on myself some more.”

That said, the 27-year-old hopes to get married and start a family by his mid-30s.

“With the recent passing of my mother, I kind of put lots of things in perspective. I don’t want to be 34 and have nothing to show for,” Cameron said. “I would love to have kids before then, I would love to have a family. To me, that’s what’s important.”

He added, “That’s what good about being home in Jupiter. All of that stuff’s fun. But to have your family … means so much more. I crave that, I want that. And I hope to find that in somebody soon.”

Tyler Cameron discusses dating after ‘The Bachelorette’

While Cameron may be taking his relationships slow, The Bachelorette alum has been dating since leaving the franchise. The TV personality was previously linked to model Gigi Hadid in 2019. Then in the above interview with Us Weekly, Cameron revealed he’s been on a few Zoom dates.

“Quarantine’s been tough to date,” Cameron said. “But I’ve had some Zoom dates here and there. It’s different, for sure.”

He also admitted dating after The Bachelorette has been quite the challenge.

“I’m one who wants to formulate my own opinions about people,” Cameron said. “So I want to get to know them first, especially before the media finds out. I want to generate my own opinions on the person, not the opinions of people on social media.”

He continued, “Once the media gets ahold of what you’re doing, everyone starts making it out to be more than it is. You’re just trying to figure out if you can just enjoy dinner together. But people are like, ‘They’re boyfriend and girlfriend.’ So it definitely makes it a little tougher.”

Clearly, a lot has changed since Bachelor Nation met Cameron on The Bachelorette Season 15. But regardless, the former reality star still remains a relevant fan-favorite. So whenever Cameron finds his perfect match, it seems the fandom will be there to cheer him on.
