It’s time to pull ourselves together, because The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will be released on Netflix soon.

After witnessing the apocalypse in the first season finale, fans have been patiently waiting to find out where the dysfunctional Hargreeves family ended up and how they plan to save the world this time around. Finally, the drought has come to an end. But what time does The Umbrella Academy Season 2 come out? Here’s how to watch the Netflix series as soon as it drops.

How will ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 2 start?

The first season of The Umbrella Academy wrapped with the end of the world after Vanya (Ellen Page) shot a burst of energy at the moon. But before everyone and everything was destroyed, Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) used his powers to transport his siblings back in time. He also suggested they could prevent the apocalypse by helping Vanya.

“The apocalypse will always happen and Vanya will always be the cause unless we take her with us to fix her,” Five said.

Then Vanya, Five, Luther (Tom Hopper), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Diego (David Castañeda), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), and Ben (Justin H. Min) — via Klaus — left 2019 as the world was vaporized.

Now, The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will pick up where season one left off. But it seems the Hargreeves were separated along the way. According to Netflix, the time jump scattered everyone in Dallas, Texas between 1960 to 1963. And here’s the kicker — there’s another apocalypse caused by Hargreeves’ impact on the timeline. Second time’s a charm, right?

The Umbrella Academy Season 2 is set to be released on Netflix on Friday, July 31. Though if you plan to binge-watch all 10 episodes as soon as the new season drops, then you might want to readjust your sleeping schedule.

Streaming platforms, such as Hulu, will release content around midnight ET. However, this isn’t the case with Netflix, as the company is based out of California. Rather, Netflix typically adds new shows and movies to the queue at 12 a.m. PT (3 a.m. ET). Thus, The Umbrella Academy fans can expect to watch the second season early Friday morning.

What ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 2 cast says about what’s to come

When speaking with Entertainment Weekly, The Umbrella Academy Season 2 cast opened up about their characters moving forward. Hopper and Castañeda suggested Luther and Diego will continue to deal with their “daddy issues.” Then Gallagher revealed Five will develop a bit of humanity because of his growing relationship with his siblings. Though his mind will still be a little preoccupied with saving the world.

Meanwhile, Page confirmed Vanya doesn’t remember the events of the first season at the start of season two. So she is able to gain some confidence and grow as a person. Raver-Lampman also noted Allison will change in the second season, particularly because she must navigate how to be a Black woman in the 1960s.

On another note, Sheehan shared Klaus “feels a bit older,” as he is newly sober. But he’s still running away from something else. Then Min acknowledged Ben is still dead. Though his relationship with Klaus evolves as the Netflix series progresses.

Whatever happens when The Umbrella Academy returns for season two, it’s clear fans are in for a fun ride. When speaking with SYFY WIRE ahead of the premiere, co-creator Gerard Way gave his stamp of approval. He said:

There is so much to get excited for. I think one of the best things about Umbrella Academy is the interaction between the siblings. And you get some great stuff by way of that. Also, the whole show feels like it leveled up with this new season, the creative team is more aware of what it is. I feel like we really know what the show is now, but there are tons of surprises.
