BTS performed at the 2022 Grammy Awards

At the 2022 Grammy Awards, BTS performed their song “Butter.” While the band has performed the song multiple times at different award shows and in concert, the group’s Grammy performance featured a never-before-seen interpretation.

At the start of the performance, Jin sat at a control panel while Jungkook descended from the ceiling, calling back to his “Euphoria” performance from the band’s BTS World Tour Love Yourself: Speak Yourself.

Suga, J-Hope, RM, and Jimin sat at different tables in the audience, while V sat with Olivia Rodrigo and whispered in her ear.

Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and V then joined Jin and Jungkook on stage. The band’s performance of “Butter” featured a new dance break incorporating lasers and jacket choreography, and BTS received a standing ovation from those in the audience at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

V says the BTS members ‘were really nervous’ about the performance

Immediately following the 2022 Grammy Awards, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook held a VLIVE livestream to talk about the award show.

“But we tried a lot of different things at the Grammys and practiced for a long time,” J-Hope told fans in the VLIVE.

V added, “We were really nervous too.”

J-Hope agreed, saying, “Everything was live. So we were even more nervous.”

Jimin shared that being able to talk to the members before the performance began helped him feel calm.

“I wanted to mention this. Before going on stage, we were all spread apart. So we were really nervous about that. But our mics were on… So we could talk to each other. So it felt like we were in our own little world,” Jimin said on VLIVE. “So it was kind of… It made me comfortable.”
