Vanderpump Rules was created on the backbone of a raucous display of twentysomethings partying too hard. But that was seven years ago and the same cast has coupled off and started having children.

If the series is renewed for another season, it could end up looking more like what viewers are used to seeing on the Housewives instead of one long party. Indeed the cast seems to be settling down and nesting. Even bad-boy Jax Taylor got married last year and openly shared that he and wife Brittany Cartwright were trying to get pregnant.

Boss Lisa Vanderpump noted a change, especially in Taylor, as he faced his own mortality. “I think he’s kind of grown up,” she told E. “He had a very sad year…losing his father, and I think when you lose somebody maybe it puts everything in perspective. It changed him.”

Lala Kent and Randall Emmett announced they are expecting a baby

Lala Kent and Randall Emmett shared that Kent is pregnant. “Today is my 30th birthday and I can’t think of any other way to celebrate than with you guys coming through your headphones and speakers,” she said on the couple’s podcast Give them Lala. “I had the best gift given to me. My body also helped out too. I am pregnant!”

She added that she was feeling a little emotional about the experience. “I am so excited. I feel very maternal and motherly,” Kent said. Adding, “I cry about everything. I look at the refrigerator and it could be empty or full and I’m, like, happy or sad, I don’t know.”

Kent is currently the only potential returning cast member who is expecting a baby. Stassi Schroeder announced she was pregnant shortly after she was fired from the series. Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired for previous racist actions. Newcomers Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens were also fired for past racist tweets.

The cast is pairing off

Another big change to the early cast lineup is relationship status. The majority of the cast were single or in a tenuous relationship. Today two couples are married and the rest are in committed relationships. The longest married couple is Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz.

The couple recently discussed baby plans too. “So everyone also was asking us about babies, when we’re going to have a baby, but you heard Mr. Commitmentphobe, himself,” Maloney-Schwartz said on her podcast, You’re Gonna Love Me. Schwartz joked about wanting to live in the present and they will have a baby when the time is right. But Maloney-Schwartz said, “We’re not getting any younger. We’re going to have a baby.”

Scheana Shay, who now lives with boyfriend Brock Davies, said she was pregnant but had a miscarriage.

Other live-in couples include Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix. The couple purchased a home together and launched a cocktail book. Also in a committed relationship is James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss. Although a few newcomers are single, the original cast is moving into a new phase in their life, which would create an entirely new series dynamic.
