Vanderpump Rules is looking quite different this season, and that’s probably because over half of the cast left the show. For a show that relies so heavily on the relationships between the cast members, cutting out half of the original faces was a risky move. But star Lala Kent says that the show hasn’t lost any of its steam due to the cuts in season 9.

Lala Kent says ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 9 is still drama-filled

Between seasons, Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni all got fired from the show. Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Dayna Kathan left the show as well.

“We obviously miss them tremendously,” Kent told HollywoodLife of her former castmates. “But, I think the show is great. I think we’re two episodes in. It’s absolutely fantastic and it’s deep. We’re back to the roots of the show and these relationships and friendships have so much history. We went two years pretty much without really deep diving into our issues, so it’s kind of like emotional vomit on the show this year.”

Will any of the cast members be back?

Since Cartwright and Taylor weren’t publicly fired from the show, there is a chance that the couple could rejoin. Kent hopes that they find a way to come back.

“I really hope so,” Kent said of the pair rejoining the cast. “I really want moments like that to become teachable for everybody and I would obviously welcome them with open arms should that ever be a conversation.”

“I’ve seen both Brittany and Stassi as moms,” she continued. “It’s so beautiful and amazing to watch them. I wish that other people could see how their lives have changed and how different our relationships are now that we’ve added kids into the mix. Four moms, I think it would be such a fun thing to show.”

Why did so many people get fired from ‘Vanderpump Rules?’

Schroeder and Doute had been on Vanderpump Rules since the very beginning of the show. But they were let go after it was revealed that they had racially profiled their former castmate, Faith Stowers.

“There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American lady,” Stowers revealed on Instagram Live. “They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi during an interview. It was just funny, because they thought it was me because it was a Black woman with a weave. So they just assumed it would be me, and they called the cops on me.”

Schroeder and Doute both apologized publicly but it was too late to save them from being let go. Caprioni and Boyens had racist tweets from their pasts resurface that caused them to get the boot. Kathan just decided not to return to the show.
