On Jan. 25, the day the Vanderpump Rules season 9 reunion aired, Leviss shared a series of videos to her Instagram Stories.

She added, “Of course, my therapist doesn’t know that today is not really one of the most anxiety-ridden days of my life, but it definitely is one of the most emotional days of my life and I am on the verge of panic and rage. Even though it doesn’t look like I am, I am.”

Levis smiled and said, “But lucky enough for me, there is a codependency meeting happening at 1:00 p.m. so at least I have something before the reunion tonight.”

At the beginning of the season 9 reunion episode, Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy made a shocking announcement to their castmates and host Andy Cohen.

“We’ve decided to break off the engagement,” Raquel revealed (per Daily Mail). “And it’s been something that I’ve been thinking about for a while, and I think that James has noticed my heart hasn’t been fully in it.”

She went on to share that she had “been having nightmares” about their wedding, noting that was “a telltale sign that something’s wrong.”

Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy’s castmates were shocked, including Lisa Vanderpump, who told them, “Life throws things at you.”

“You’ve got to stop prodding at it,” Kennedy responded. “We’ve worked on it. We worked on our relationship.” He added, “And I feel like after I quit drinking. You know, I just, like, thought that would fix it. But I didn’t quite fix it all, you know?”

He also said they both felt like they weren’t each others’ soulmates. “We had a conversation, like, a couple months ago, and I asked her if ‘I’m your soul mate, do you think?’ Like, she said, ‘Do you think I’m your soulmate?’ Like it was almost like, the first time I felt like we weren’t destined in the galaxy, you know?” Kennedy said through tears.

When Vanderpump asked the couple what changed, Leviss shared, “We haven’t been having sex for a while.”

“It’s been a while,” Kennedy agreed. “It’s been, like, through COVID, like, we didn’t really.”

“It’s been since those rage texts that James sent me,” Leviss revealed, to which Scheana Shay replied, “That was two summers ago.”

“It was like a once a month type thing, if you want the number,” Kennedy said.
