Scheana casts doubts on Dayna’s motives

Scheana and Dayna got off on the wrong foot at the beginning of season 8 of Vanderpump Rules, which was filmed last summer. During a recent interview on the Danny Pellegrino podcast, Scheana revealed that everyone thought Dayna was using Max Boyens to grab time in the spotlight.

“So here’s what I thought in the beginning…” Scheana explained, “and I don’t want Dayna to get upset with me for saying this because we’ve come full-circle but this is also something I’ve said to her, and to defend my actions in the beginning, even though they’re not really defendable… Everyone felt it was a very calculated move of hers.”

Dayna started the season dating Max, who happens to be one of the new managers of TomTom. But midway through the season, she ditched Max for his best friend, Brett Caprioni.

To make things even more complicated, both Max and Brett have hooked up with Scheana. Because of this, many Vanderpump Rules fans suspected that Dayna was following in Scheana’s footsteps and did not have any real interest in dating Max or Brett.

In the interview, Scheana added that she felt like Dayna’s moves were “very calculated,” especially considering how she isn’t even Max’s type. While Dayna’s romantic life clearly got Scheana on edge, this wasn’t the only reason she was at odds with the Vanderpump Rules newbie this season.

Scheana says Dayna should have ‘kissed her a**’ when she joined ‘Vanderpump Rules’

On the Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Scheana admitted that Vanderpump Rules producers told her that she should have informed them about her previous relationship with Brett before filming began. The reality star also opened up about her relationship with Max.

Scheana revealed that Max told her that he had real “depth” with Dayna when it came to conversations. But when he was with Scheana, their talks were nothing more than “photoshoots and emojis,” which didn’t help quell the drama.

With the cameras focusing on Dayna, Scheana felt like she was being left out of the spotlight. Although things are better now between them, she admitted that she thought Dayna should have been much more flattering to her.

“Dayna should have kissed her ass because she’s new, and it’s not her job to befriend new people, or get them camera time,” Scheana stated.

Scheana added that the first few episodes of the season were very focused on Dayna’s career. She admitted that jealously got the best of her and that, at one point, she wondered if the show had turned into something other than Vanderpump Rules.

Is this the real reason Scheana didn’t like Dayna?

With Dayna seemingly stealing the spotlight, Scheana revealed that she was very worried about her spot on the show.

At the end of the day, Scheana claimed that Dayna’s romance with Max wasn’t a big deal, but the idea that she was taking her place got her nervous about her future on reality TV.

“What I did care about was this new girl coming on the show getting her career filmed and everyone going to her show and supporting her. It was me being butt-hurt and feeling like, ‘Is my job at risk? All these new people are coming on, you’re showing their careers [and] you’re not showing mine. You’re not showing my life.’ I was frustrated about that,” she confessed.

Scheana went on to say that she thought Dayna was taking her job. She also began to get frustrated about how she was still serving tables at SUR while many of her co-stars had moved on.

Scheana comes to terms with her role on ‘Vanderpump Rules’

Despite all the drama with Dayna, Scheana eventually embraced the changes and came to terms with the direction of the show.

Scheana says that she realized that Vanderpump Rules was always meant to be a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin-off that focused on Lisa Vanderpump’s business ventures. This includes exploring Lisa’s employees and the drama they face at her restaurants.

“This is my job and I take my job seriously. So if that means my job is to bridge the new cast with the old cast and to show up at SUR several times a week, then that’s my job,” she added.

Part 1 of the Vanderpump Rules season 8 reunion airs Tuesday night on Bravo.
