History’s highly anticipated series, Vikings, will come to an end after its next season. It’s been a fun ride, full of interesting characters with a spotlight on Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his equally famous sons.

Season 6B will return at some point, but it’s unclear when, and fans are concerned that the series is going to be delayed. According to ScreenRant, new episodes could come closer to the end of the year if things stick to the usual pattern of release. But with no announcement yet and it already being so close to the end of 2020, it’s unclear when fans will finally see the conclusion of their favorite series.

Alex Høgh Andersen, who plays Ivar, recently shared some interesting behind-the-scenes photos from his time on set, which will hopefully hold fans over until the new season.

What happened in season 6, episode 10 of ‘Vikings’?

The main event in the mid-season finale is the battle between the Rus Vikings and the Vikings of Scandinavia. Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) has allied himself with Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) alongside his brother, Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø). They attack on all fronts, but there’s a cryptic conversation between Ivar and his brother, Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) that seems to take place at the same time.

Bjorn is also stabbed by what looks like Ivar on the beach, but Ivar is in a completely different place at the time. It led some fans to think it was all in Bjorn’s head in preparation for battle, but a new scene involving Bjorn seems to confirm that he makes it.

At the virtual panel for San Diego Comic-Con@Home 2020 called Vikings: A Look Back with The Lothbroks, some footage was shown of the new season, in which Ivar and Hvitserk sit at the head of the great Rus army with Prince Oleg. Bjorn appears on his horse alone and possibly hurt. It’s unclear if this all takes place after the fight, but something seems to be wrong with Bjorn in the clip.

Alex, who plays Ivar, recently posted some behind-the-scenes images from filming the series on Instagram. He even addressed that he has “zero clue” as to when the series will finally air season 6B. But he did share an image of himself and “the butt of a massive Gloucestershire pig.” He poses next to it, although the whole pig isn’t in the image, just its body. Alex squats down next to the pig while dressed as Ivar while smiling from ear to ear. There’s another pig in front of him too, appearing that he’s in a pig pen of sorts.

There are two more behind-the-scenes photos with Alex and other people who work on the series as well. In one, Alex is looking ready for battle, as someone assists him in getting dressed. In another, he poses with people working behind two cameras.

Alex captioned the post on Instagram: “While we’re waiting for the last season of Vikings to finally air (I have zero clue when that’s gonna happen(!)), here’s a small collection of photos to entertain you. 1. photo is me posing with the butt of a massive Gloucestershire pig, 2. photo is costume queen Tanya fixing my own butt and 3. photo is focus-puller magician Shane Deasy striking a pose while sitting on his butt, as always. – Stay safe and sound folks. Xx A.”

It’s nice to see these behind-the-scenes moments. Hopefully we will see more of them when season 6B is finally announced.
