Virgin River is one of the most beloved shows on Netflix. The drama series, based on Robyn Carr’s books follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge). The midwife/nurse leaves her life in Los Angeles for a fresh start in Virgin River. Though Mel moves to the small town to heal, she finds herself in a romantic relationship with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson).

Though the former Marine and bar owner appears to be Mel’s perfect match, he has quite a bit of baggage on his own. In fact, a major character connected to Jack is one of the most hated on the show.

What will happen in ‘Virgin River’ Season 4?

Netflix has just renewed Virgin River for season 4 and season 5. Fans have speculated about what will happen when the series does return to Netflix. Virgin River Showrunner Sue Tenney has revealed to fans her hopes for the new season. They include the return of Hope (Annette O’Toole), the culprit behind Jack’s shooting, the truth about Mel’s pregnancy and so much more.

“I want to do as many seasons as we can,” Tenney told Us Weekly. She also hinted at who shot Jack. “If we get the actual reveal [in season 4], it would detail more of how this all was intertwined,” she explained. “The webbing of that story goes all the way back to the first season, so it’s a connective tissue that goes through four seasons.”

Thus far, Henderson knows who shot Jack, which he explained surprised him. Moreover, Breckenridge also knows about the paternity of Mel’s child.

‘Virgin River’ fans agree that Charmaine is the most hated character on the show

Fans are thrilled by the return of Virgin River and the revelations that it will bring. However, they are not looking forward to the return of Charmine (Lauren Hammersley), Jack’s pregnant ex-girlfriend, who is now married to tyrannical lawyer Todd (Patrick Sabongu).

In fact, fans are beyond fed up with Charmaine and her exhausting storyline. “She just seems like a deeply misguided, insecure woman who is in an abusive relationship that she’s trying super hard to pretend is normal,” one Redditor said. “It’s NOT normal for some random dude to want to marry a pregnant lady and adopt her children after mere weeks of knowing her. I don’t know what his angle is but he seems like a freak.”

Other fans are labeling her as desperate and delusional and they are hoping that we won’t see much more of her past season 4.

Is Jack the real father of Charmaine’s twins?

Speaking of desperate and delusional, some fans don’t even believe that Jack is the actual father of Charmaine’s unborn twins. There is a theory swirling that Charmaine went through a round of IVF in a desperate attempt to keep Jack.

Another theory suggests that Dan Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) is the true father of the unborn babies. Some Virgin River fans believe that Jack’s friend, Detective Mike Valenzuela (Marco Grazzini) is actually the father of the babies.

When a stunned Jack spoke with Milke about Charmaine’s pregnancy in season 1, Mike seemed flabbergasted. His reaction was way too over-the-top for someone who had nothing to do with it.
