Virgin River Season 4 is set to debut on Netflix soon. The drama series follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse and midwife from Los Angeles. After moving to Virgin River for a fresh start, Mel finds herself falling in love with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) who owns the town’s bar.

In season 2 of the series, Jack was shot and left for dead at his bar. Though Jack lived, the mystery has been left unsolved. However, some fans say they don’t even care anymore.

‘Virgin River’ Season 4 debuts July 20

The fourth season of Virgin River will premiere on Netflix on July 20. As we know from the season 3 finale, Mel has revealed her pregnancy to Jack and admitted her questions about the paternity of her baby. Moreover, Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) has been arrested for shooting Jack in season 2.

Deadline shared the season description for season 4:

In Season 4, Mel confronts a dilemma. Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark, or Jack, she has a sense of optimism. For years she yearned to be a mother, and her dream is one step closer to reality. While Jack is supportive and excited, the question of paternity continues to gnaw at him.

Complicating matters is the arrival of a handsome new doctor, who’s in the market to start a family of his own. Hope is still healing from her car accident, and the lingering psychological effects of her brain injury will have profound consequences for both her and Doc.

Brie, intent on proving the innocence of the man she loves, unexpectedly finds herself in a closer relationship with Mike and one step closer to Calvin’s violent criminal web. Even as Preacher forges a new romantic connection, he can’t help but hold out hope for being reunited with Christopher and Paige.

While it appears that the mystery of Jack’s shooting is set to be resolved in season 4, some Virgin River fans don’t even care anymore.

Fans no longer care who shot Jack on ‘Virgin River’

While fans are very eager about the return of the beloved drama series, it seems that the mystery around Jack’s shooting is no longer as intriguing as it once was. “Does anyone care anymore about the shooting from 2 years ago?” one Redditor asked. “Don’t we more want to know what miracle of science got Mel prego in one day of fertility treatments?”

Another quipped, “Going by the last season they forgot that even happened…”

It turns out that the writers are trying to leave fans hanging on for a reason and we are going to finally learn the truth in season 4.

Martin Henderson says fans will be shocked to learn who shot Jack

While some fans claim they’ve moved on from trying to figure out who shot Jack, Henderson says we’re still in for a wild surprise. After all, the actor has known who pulled the trigger on his character for quite some time. “I know,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “And the fact that I know makes me feel like the audience is going to find out.” The actor explained that the writer’s toyed with the idea of revealing everything in Season 3, but ultimately decided to wait until Season 4.

He added that no matter the outcome, he hopes Jack and Brady can resolve their issues down the line. “It would be unfair to the audience to not have that result,” Henderson explained. “That would feel a little tacky to string them along and then keep it a mystery. There has to be a resolution, and obviously, it further complicates his relationship with Brady and it’ll be nice to see some of that stuff resolved hopefully too, and maybe heal going forward.”
