‘WandaVision’: Kat Dennings Does Not ‘Know What Happens’ in the Finale

Every week, WandaVision leaves fans reeling with cliffhangers and a new mystery to uncover. The finale of WandaVision will air on Disney+ on March 5, and the finale cannot come soon enough for Marvel fans.

Kat Dennings appears in WandaVision as Darcy Lewis, an astrophysicist. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada, Dennings revealed that she actually has no idea how WandaVision ends.

Kat Dennings did not know she would be in ‘WandaVision’

Dennings first appeared as Darcy in Thor. At the time, Darcy is a political science student, and she is working with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) as an intern alongside Erik Selvig (Stellan SkarsgÄrd).

She appeared again in Thor: The Dark World. In WandaVision, it is revealed Darcy survived Thanos’ Snap in Avengers: Infinity War and earned a doctorate in astrophysics.

Speaking with ET Canada, Dennings shared she had no idea she would be asked to join the TV show.

“I couldn’t believe I was in a Marvel film to begin with,” she said. “I think the best way to approach it and most things in work is like no expectation. I was just so delighted to be there. I couldn’t believe they brought me back for a second film, and now I can’t believe I’m in this one.”

Kat Dennings does not know what happens in the ‘WandaVision’ finale

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Marvel comic books have numerous running theories about how WandaVision will end. Even though Dennings stars in the show, she does not know what exactly will happen in the finale.

It turns out this is on purpose, and Dennings made the decision to only focus on plotlines related to Darcy. Because of this, Dennings does not know the specifics about the final episode of WandaVision.

“It gets overwhelming because not only are there all of these mysteries being solved, but also you know that you can’t say anything,” she said. “So, for me at a certain point, I made the decision as an actor to ignore everything else. It’s bad acting but I decided to just focus on my stuff and what I was knowing and not knowing.”

Dennings continued, “I decided to kind of keep the mystery for myself. Like even now I don’t really know what happens in the finale, and that was on purpose for myself.”

Kat Dennings won’t tell fans anything about the Marvel show

One of the reasons Dennings chose to not know how WandaVision ends is so she would not have to lie while promoting the show. Dennings also finds it nice that fans are left questioning after every WandaVision episode.

“It’s so rare now to not be given every answer, right? Because usually we have our shows and you can just watch everything,” she told ET Canada. “And that’s the cool thing about what Disney+ is doing with these is you do have to wait.”

She added, “I think there’s something so rewarding and fun about that.”

Unfortunately for fans of WandaVision hoping to be spoiled, it sounds like the ending of the show will be a surprise.
