Warrior Nun was a surprise hit when it debuted on Netflix back in 2020, but the past couple of years were fairly silent in regards to a second season. Fortunately, fans finally have an idea of when they can expect the next batch of episodes. During Netflix Geeked Week 2022, Warrior Nun Season 2 received a release date window and an action-packed trailer that promises another thrilling ride.

‘Warrior Nun’ Season 2 sets winter release date window

Although Netflix still hasn’t released an official release date for Warrior Nun Season 2, it offered a window during its 2022 Geeked Week event. The series will return during the winter 2022 television season, meaning we’ve still got a while to go before we reunite with the Order of the Cruciform Sword.

The last time fans saw Ava (Alba Baptista) and her comrades, they inadvertently unleashed Adriel (William Miller) upon the world. As it turns out, Adriel wasn’t the angel they believed him to be. Instead, he proved a dangerous demon — one who sent an army of wraith demons after them at the tail end of season 1.

From the looks of it, Warrior Nun Season 2 will show the girls preparing to take on Adriel. Netflix’s first teaser promises plenty of action on that front — and even higher stakes than the initial outing.

Netflix Geeked Week’s ‘Warrior Nun’ teaser promises more action-packed episodes

In addition to setting a release date window for Warrior Nun Season 2, Netflix dropped its first teaser during Geeked Week. From the first look alone, it seems like viewers are in for another action-packed batch of episodes. And given where Warrior Nun Season 1 left things, that’s probably no surprise.

The teaser opens with Ava sprinting across water, promising some exciting training sequences to come. Ava and her sisters will no doubt need extra preparation. As one of them puts in the teaser, “No one in history has ever defeated Adriel and lived.” Fortunately, the group sounds willing and ready to “make history.” And as the Halo Bearer, Ava seems the most likely to walk away from such a confrontation.

It’s hard to say whether they’ll succeed at bringing down Adriel when the new episodes arrive. Either way, fans are sure to be entertained watching them try. After all, the first minute or so of footage already has us on edge.

Warrior Nun Season 2 now has a release date and teaser trailer, but it’s hard to say what fans can expect beyond that. Showrunner Simon Barry shared Twitter updates on the status of season 2 throughout 2021, teasing more interesting backdrops for the coming episodes. Additionally, fans know most of the main cast will return for the next outing. If nothing else, that means we can expect more of what made season 1 so great in season 2.

And with the series slated to return later this year, fans have plenty of time to rewatch the first outing.
