The TV show Martin is still beloved by fans all these years later. Not only did it have a hilarious cast in Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, and Tichina Arnold, but it also gave us classic lines and set the bar high for what future sitcoms would try to become. It goes without saying, then, that the Martin reunion is a must-watch for many. But first, there are some things you need to know. Here’s how to watch the Martin reunion and more.

What is ‘Martin: The Reunion’ about?

The Martin reunion was first announced in February, after years of speculation and wonder about whether one would ever happen. Deadline reported at the time that it would bring back the original stars, with the exception of the late Thomas Mikal Ford, and would film on Feb. 20.

The reunion brings them back to the iconic living room in Martin for a special conversation in honor of the series, which ran for five seasons between 1992 and 1997.

“Hosted by Affion Crockett, the cast will look back on the show’s most hilarious moments, revisit the iconic characters Martin made famous and pay an emotional tribute to the late, great Tommy Ford,” BET+ said in a statement shared with Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “Complete with musical performances and drop-ins by celebrity super fans, Martin: The Reunion brings back the wazzup wazzup wazzup passion fans have been waiting for.”

How to watch the ‘Martin’ reunion

The Martin reunion will be available to watch on June 16 after midnight PT, exclusively on BET+. Packages start at $9.99. But, if you’re not yet ready to sign up, there’s an option to try the service free for seven days.

In addition to the Martin reunion, the streamer is offering plenty of other fun and exciting content to watch this summer. This includes All the Queen’s Men Season 2, College Hill: Celebrity Edition, and The Ms. Pat Show Season 2, among other TV shows and movies.

“This summer, BET+ is bringing a packed schedule of great stories with brand-new content, the return of fan favorites and of course, the iconic cast reunion we’ve all been waiting for,” BET+ executive Devin Griffin told Variety. “We’re excited to deepen our footprint across film and the scripted and reality TV spaces and look forward to bringing our members premium Black entertainment.”

The chances of an actual ‘Martin’ reboot

The downside of it all is that this could be the last reunion. Although there were previously rumors of a reboot, it was announced in 2021 that it wasn’t going to happen.

“It’s something that we wanted to happen,” Arnold said on The Tamron Hall Show in a joint appearance with Campbell. “It’s something that we tried very hard for it to happen. But the way it looks to me, realistically, it’s not going to happen. Not unless it’s an animation.”

“Tisha brought up a great idea to do animation of it, but I would say a show can never ever be rebooted without the original cast,” she continued. “But as far as a reboot, I don’t think that’s going to happen. Tommy is no longer with us.”

“This show is never going to be the same. It’s never gonna be the same. And some things are best left alone,” she added.
