Weird: The Al Yankovic Story opens with a roaring crowd of fans with lights covering the crowds. The text over the trailer states, “6 platinum records” and “5 Grammys” before noting that this film is “the untold true story.” Music and clapping continue to build until the music really kicks into a song that audiences will instantly recognize.

Radcliffe’s Yankovic speaks for the first time: “Hope you guys are ready for this.” However, the Weird: The Al Yankovic Story suddenly shifts into a familiar, yet silly tone. A Reddit subthread talked about their reactions to the Weird: The Al Yankovic Story teaser trailer and a brand new Radcliffe. The reactions to the trailer itself vary across Reddit. However, folks can’t stop talking about the transformative lead role for the Harry Potter actor.

The most upvoted comment reads, “Is it just me or is Radcliffe surprisingly yoked?” A fellow Redditor explained how they wouldn’t be surprised if the actor got into this kind of shape exclusively for the role.

Another commenter wrote, “I was just saying it’s entirely unfair for Dan Radcliffe to look that hot playing Weird Al. MF conspiracy I tell you, I did not expect this to awaken anything in me.”

One Redditor envisioned Radcliffe thinking, “Welp, if I’m playing Weird Al, I’m gonna have to get absolutely f***ing shredded.”

Radcliffe playing Yankovic is truly taking over social media, as people can’t stop talking about his iconic look and performance that appears perfectly strange. It will certainly be an intriguing turn for the actor recognized for entirely different roles.
