Wendy Williams Splits From Beau Mike Esterman After Months of Dating

Wendy Williams is ready to find love again after splitting from her longtime husband Kevin Hunter, but it won’t be with contractor Mike Esterman. The TV host seemed to be building a relationship with Esterman after meeting him earlier in 2021 on her talk show. But according to him, he and Williams have stopped seeing each other.

Wendy Williams’ fling with Mike Esterman is over, he confirms

Following weeks of rumors that their fling had fizzled, fueled by an April Instagram post from Williams showing her with a mystery man, Esterman confirmed to The Sun that he and Williams are no longer seeing each other.

He explained it boiled down to his work schedule, as he’s a “workaholic” and didn’t really have time to continue dating Williams.

“It’s a busy time of the year for home improvement, I don’t know if I can give her what she wants,” he told the outlet. “Nobody called it a day, there’s just no time to meet up. We talk when we can. I can’t hold her back from meeting someone who can give her more.”

Elaborating, Esterman told Page Six: “I had placed all work-related tasks aside to get to know her on a personal level, no angles or hidden agendas. I can only wish her the best as we both continue the search at our own paces and remain friends in the process. I have enjoyed our times together and felt great to be able to make her laugh.”

The news comes three months after they met

As The Sun notes, Esterman met Williams in February when he appeared on The Wendy Williams Show as a part of a “Date Wendy” segment, which was meant to help her find a new partner. She chose him out of three others, and they soon had their first date, which Esterman told Access was “amazing.”

He also said he was looking forward to hanging with Williams again and getting to know her more, explaining: “I want to go back to New York. I’d love to get to know her a little bit more… I think it’d be great.”

Williams’ fling with Esterman came just over a year after she and Hunter finalized their divorce. She had been with the businessman for more than 20 years, welcoming one son with him in 2000, before their split.

The breakup came in 2019 after Hunter welcomed a child with a longtime mistress — something Williams discovered after hiring a private investigator, she told E! News’ Daily Pop.

“You know, the [private investigator] was following them on vacation,” she told the outlet. “The P.I. followed her to her GYN appointments. The P.I. ended up finding out that the girl was pregnant.”

Those findings and their subsequent breakup were captured in her Lifetime biopic Wendy Williams: The Movie, which aired in January 2021.
