Jennifer Lopez’s face and physique are probably more admired of late than Michelangelo’s David was in the great artist’s time. At 50, she herself admits she looks – and feels – better than she did twenty years ago. It’s as though the Let’s Get Loud singer found the fountain of youth and is aging backward.

Find out what the ultra-health-conscious Lopez considers a breakfast fit for champions, plus her overall very disciplined philosophy towards food and fitness.

JLo’s happy motivation to getting her workouts done

Especially now, ahead of her appearance at the SuperBowl LIV halftime show with Shakira on Feb. 2, Lopez is amping up her workouts as she prepares to step onto a stage in front of millions and millions of viewers.

Speaking with Hello! in 2016, Jenny from the Block revealed the secret to getting her grueling workout in every day: she feels great after and looks forward to it.

“I am 100 percent convinced that working out is part of what makes me so happy. Dance has always been a huge part of my life and taking the time to move my body and do something that’s so good for me is key to my happiness. And I really believe that when you take care of yourself and work to stay healthy, you’re better able to take care of those you love. So working out is definitely a priority for me.”

The food philosophy she adheres to

As for her diet, the Hustlers star is unfailingly strict about what she consumes. No junk or processed foods, alcohol, caffeinated coffee, or refined foods. Lopez sticks to foods rich in nutrients for a balanced intake.

“I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing,” her trainer Tracy Anderson told People. “It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food… everything is fresh.”

“She is a very balanced person, so she’s not going to miss out on Thanksgiving or a holiday with her children,” Anderson continued. “That’s one of the reasons why the workout is important, and it’s so consistent – so we don’t do any kind of extreme dieting.”

JLo’s breakfast

Lopez starts her day off right with a nutrient-packed berry smoothie, containing lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, Greek yogurt, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and a generous scoop of BodyLab TastyShake.

The athletic star also works with fiance Alex Rodriguez’s trainer, Dodd Romero. The coach and trainer told Us Weekly in 2019 that Lopez chugs down a significant amount of water daily, starting her day off with a refreshing glass of lemon water before her morning smoothie.

“Drinking plenty of water, especially before a workout, can help you push harder and get more out of your exercise routine,” Lopez said in her conversation with Hello!

“I try to keep my body hydrated and well-rested after every workout,” she said. “That way, I’m ready to hit it hard again the next day.”
