In 2017, following several weight-loss surgery procedures, Shannon appeared in her own standalone series called Mama June: From Not to Hot. In March 2019, Shannon and her boyfriend, Geno Doak, were arrested at an Alabama gas station and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
