What is the age difference between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher?

According to Moore in her recently published memoir Inside Out, Kutcher was 25 when they first met. She was 40. But Moore says their 15 year age difference wasn’t an issue at first. In fact, the actor claims that being with Kutcher made her feel like she was going back in time to when she was his age.

‘He was 25,” she writes. “I was 40. But I’m telling you: We couldn’t feel it. We were totally in-sync from our very first conversation.”

Moore continues, saying, “When I met Ashton, it almost felt like a do-over, like I could just go back in time and experience what it was like to be young, with him- much more so than I’d ever been able to experience when I was actually in my twenties.”

As the actor reveals in her memoir, she married Bruce Willis when she was 25 and had kids shortly after. Because of this, she feels like she didn’t have a chance to experience her youth.

According to Moore, she thinks there it’s a total double standard when people scrutinize the age difference between her and Kutcher. As she points out in an interview with ABC News, no one bats an eye at the fact that Bruce Willis’s wife is 23 years younger than him.

And when Diane Sawyer asked Moore why she thought there was just a double standard, she said, “I think part of it is, we’ve been conditioned societally to look at the value of a woman being tied to her fertility. Like, what would an older woman have to offer?”

But Moore didn’t even feel like she was 15 years older than Kutcher. In fact, she felt like a teenager again when she was with him.

“I was a 40-year-old who had a big life, and Ashton’s adult life was just beginning,” she writes in her memoir. “I didn’t see all that because I was inside of it.” Moore then says that she “just felt like a 15-year-old girl, hoping somebody liked me.”

According to Moore’s memoir, she ended things with Kutcher because her then-husband cheated on her more than once. He also started withdrawing from the relationship and no longer paid attention to Moore when she needed him most.

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton,” Moore said in a statement via ABC News. “As a woman, a mother, and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”
