Season 6 of Hallmark’s beloved series When Calls the Heart is finally on Netflix — but not if you live in the U.S. The latest season of the popular period drama is now streaming for many around the world, but viewers in America are out of luck if they were hoping to binge-watch the show’s most recent episodes before the season 7 premiere on Feb. 23.

‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 6 is streaming around the world

The official When Calls the Heart Instagram account revealed on Jan. 30 that the most recent season of the show was streaming on Netflix in certain countries.

“#Hearties! We heard a rumor that some of you around the 🌎 now have Season Six on Netflix!,” read a post on the show’s Instagram page, which also asked fans who could now stream WCTH to share the news in the comments.

People from around the world, including the Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Chile, Italy, Japan, Brazil, and Australia, quickly replied that season 6 was available for them.

While When Calls the Heart Season 6 aired in the spring of 2019 in the U.S., it’s not broadcast worldwide. For many of these fans, this is the first time they’ve had a chance to see these new episodes.

Hearties in the U.S. are disappointed

While Hearties around the world were thrilled that they could finally watch season 6 on Netflix, the news wasn’t so great for fans in the U.S. While American Netflix subscribers can watch seasons 1-5 of WCTH, season 6 isn’t yet available.

“Not in the US 😢😢😢,” commented one fan. “I like to binge the prior season to see it all again before the new one starts!”

While some were frustrated they couldn’t catch up with their favorite Hope Valley residents, at least one Heartie was glad others were able to enjoy the show, writing: “Doesn’t look like it’s made it to Netflix in the U.S. yet, but I’m glad others are finally able to watch it. Enjoy!”

The news was even worse for Canadian fans of the series, who reported that Netflix only has seasons 1-4 of the show — even though it is set and filmed in Canada. However, When Calls the Heart is available on-demand in Canada on Super Channel Heart & Home, which will also broadcast season 7 at the same time it airs in the U.S.

As of now, there’s no news on when WCTH Season 6 will make it to Netflix in the U.S.

“No word yet on a @netflix USA date yet. As soon as we know, we’ll be sure to share!” commented the @wcth_tv Instagram.

There can be several reasons why a show or movie is streaming in one country but not another, according to Netflix. Some programs aren’t available because of differences in regional taste, while multiple rights owners or having no rights available to purchase can also affect availability.

While Hearties in the U.S. can’t yet get season 6 on Netflix, they will be able to watch when the new season of When Calls the Heart premieres Sunday, Feb. 23 at 8/7c on the Hallmark Channel.

A preview released Jan. 29 suggests that the Elizabeth-Nathan-Lucas love triangle that the show set up at the end of season 6 will be a major focus of the upcoming season. In the clip, Elizabeth stands in the middle of a nearly empty street in Hope Valley, facing the two men who are competing for her heart — mountie Nathan Grant and saloon owner Lucas Bouchard. There’s no clue about who she chooses, but whatever happens, it’s sure to get Hearties talking.
