While they wait, fans can watch their favorite franchise movies on HBO Max. The streamer carries all eight movies: Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), Chamber of Secrets (2002), Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Goblet of Fire (2005), Order of the Phoenix (2007), Half-Blood Prince (2009), Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010), and Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011).
Who is in the 20th-anniversary reunion special?
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will reunite dozens of franchise stars, including Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint. Fans can also expect to see Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Gary Oldman, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Imelda Staunton, Oliver and James Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Ian Hart, Mark Williams, and Alfred Enoch.
Chris Columbus, the award-winning director who helmed two franchise films, will also join in on the fun.
In a statement, executive producer Casey Patterson revealed fans would get to see the franchise’s biggest stars take a look back at their experiences and memories with the franchise.
“There’s magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago,” Patterson teased. “The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and personal journey through the making of these incredible films.”
In an Instagram post, Watson shared a photo of herself with Radcliffe and Grint. And in the caption, she wrote a heartfelt message and invited fans to watch the reunion special.
“Happy 20th Anniversary, Potterheads!” Watson wrote. “We hope you enjoy the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which will stream New Year’s day, Jan. 1 on HBO Max. Lots to look forward to.”
