Brian Austin Green is one of the most famous faces of ’90s pop culture, having risen to fame on Beverly Hills, 90210. The charming actor also happens to be married to a bombshell actress who is well known for her tattoos, beauty, and tendency to speak her mind. Still, there was a time when Brian Austin Green wasn’t sure that he wanted to be with Megan Fox at all. Read on to learn about how longtime couple first met and what ultimately convinced Green to give Fox a chance.

Brian Austin Green’s first love

Born in 1973, Brian Austin Green started acting at a young age, appearing in TV shows like Knots Landing and Good Morning, Miss Bliss in the late eighties. His career really took off when he was cast in Beverly Hills, 90201, opposite young talents like Tori Spelling, Luke Perry, and Shannen Doherty. Green would become well known to fans all over the world for his role as David Silver, and the show would serve as a springboard for other big-name projects.

Green’s personal life was much-publicized, and in the early years of Beverly Hills, 90210, Green dated his co-star Tori Spelling for a brief period. After the dissolution of his relationship with Spelling, Green started dating another co-star, actress Vanessa Marcil. Although he and Marcil’s relationship didn’t last for more than a couple of years, they did have a son in 2002, whom they named Kassius.

When did Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox start dating?

In the early 2000s, Green crossed paths with a young actress named Megan Fox. Although the two had immediate chemistry, Green was very hesitant to begin a relationship with Fox. As he revealed in a recent interview, not only was he just getting out of a serious relationship and wanted to date around for a bit before starting another real romance, but Fox was a good deal younger than him — only 18 to his 30.

Still, Green acknowledged that Fox was “persistent,” and even though he kept pushing her away at first, he realized how interested in her he really was when she said that she would look into other dating opportunities. Once they started seriously dating in 2004, Green said that they were able to enjoy a lot of time together in relative privacy, since it was so early in Fox’s career.

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox got engaged in 2006, only two years after they first started dating. Of course, Fox scored her big break in 2007 when she was cast in the first Transformers movie, and her career went into overdrive. In 2009, the pair called off their engagement before eventually reuniting later that same year. Ultimately, Green and Fox got married in 2010 in a very private ceremony in Hawaii.

Their marriage has gone through ups and downs over the years. In 2015, Fox filed for divorce, but when Fox found out she was pregnant, they got back together. In total, the couple has four children — Green’s oldest son, Kassius, plus three younger boys named Noah, Bodhi, and Journey. In spite of the struggles and tough times that they have gone through, Green and Fox seem to be truly in love and committed to each other and the family that they have built together.

These days, Fox stays mostly under the radar, occasionally emerging for various acting gigs, while Green’s career is enjoying a historic resurgence with the Beverly Hills, 90210 revival. Green and Fox have shown that they have the tenacity to weather the tough times as well as enjoy the good ones.
