Why Some Fans Don’t Think Taylor Swift Will Attend the 2022 Grammy Awards

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards are set to take place on April 3 in Las Vegas. Taylor Swift‘s album evermore is nominated for Album of the Year. While Swift is nominated at the 2022 Grammy Awards, some fans of the singer-songwriter do not think she will attend the award show.

Swift released evermore on Dec. 11, 2020. The album was a surprise release and is considered to be a companion album to Swift’s 2020 album folklore, which won Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The Recording Academy announced nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards on Nov. 23, 2021.

The nominations for Album of the Year are:

After evermore received the Album of the Year nomination, Swift shared a video of herself singing the song “champagne problems” from the album on social media.

“NO PROBLEMS TODAY JUST CHAMPAGNE,” Swift tweeted. “I wanted to share this video with you from when @aaron_dessner and I were doing our fittings for the video and there was a piano, so ofc this happened. SO stoked evermore has been honored like this. Congrats to all our fellow nominees #GRAMMYs.”

Some fans don’t think Taylor Swift will attend the 2022 Grammy Awards

While Swift is clearly grateful that evermore was nominated at the 2022 Grammy Awards, some fans do not think she will attend the award show.

Because Swift won Album of the Year at the most recent Grammy Awards, some fans do not think she will be able to repeat the success with evermore. Swift has notably not promoted evermore in the same way she did folklore, making fans think that she will not make an appearance at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

“I don’t think so, she knows she won’t win and hasn’t done much campaigning for it (even though I would obviously love to see her),” wrote a fan on Reddit.

“she’s not winning anything this time, so no she won’t attend,” a Reddit user wrote.

“I’d guess—completely arbitrarily assigning chances—that attendance is around 50% and performing is probably only around 10%,” one fan speculated on Reddit.

With the 2022 Grammy Awards only days away, the Recording Academy has already announced numerous performers, confirming the attendance of multiple nominees. As of right now, Swift is not listed as a performer.
