The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on Sept. 12. BTS are nominated for seven awards at the upcoming awards show, including Song of the Year for their single “Dynamite.” Will Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of BTS also perform at the 2021 MTV VMAs?

BTS are not listed as performers at the 2021 MTV VMAs

While BTS are nominated for multiple awards, MTV did not include the Korean band in the list of performers for the night.

According to MTV, Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello, Chlöe of Chloe x Halle, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Justin Bieber, The Kid LAROI, Kacey Musgraves, Kim Petras, Machine Gun Kelly, Normani, Olivia Rodrigo, Ozuna, Polo G, Shawn Mendes, Swae Lee, Swedish House Mafia, Tainy, and twenty one pilots will perform.

Unless BTS end up being surprise performers at the 2021 MTV VMAs, it is unlikely the septet will perform at the awards show.

This would not be the first time BTS opted not to perform at the MTV VMAs. In 2019, despite being nominated, BTS did not attend or perform at the awards show. The band did perform “Dynamite” at the 2020 MTV VMAs, but their performance was announced well in advance.
