The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed life for a lot of people. With the restrictions that were put in place to keep people safe, a lot of things had to be put on the backburner, including some people’s fitness routines. With gyms around the country closed, some people resorted to working out at home, while others opted to miss the workouts altogether. As a result, Will Smith‘s body, which is known for being chiseled and toned, looks a bit different now than you might recognize.

Will Smith’s new body

Over the weekend, the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor posted a picture of himself near a lake. In the picture, his jacket was wide open, exposing his belly.

“I’m gonna be real wit yall – I’m in the worst shape of my life,” he captioned the photo.

Will’s body was met with lots of positivity from fans.

“You’re Will Smith!! You can be in whatever shape you want,” one person wrote.

“This is the most amazing post in the history of social media,” another said.

“Let me be real with you. You’re 52. You look great,” another person commented.

“Man! You have been in shape your whole life,” another person said. “Enjoy the dad bod with pride! Let’s end… the carbs discrimination.”

Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith had a hard year

2020 was particularly trying for Will, as his relationship with his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, was called into question after singer, August Alsina, revealed that he had been in a relationship with her.

“I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her,” Alsina said in interview with Angela Yee of The Breakfast Club. “I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”

Alsina even alleged that Will gave his blessing for the relationship to continue.

“I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing,” Alsina said.

After Alsina’s interview, Will and Jada did an episode of Red Table Talk where they spoke openly about what happened and revealed that Alsina and Jada had, in fact, had a relationship at one point. After the video was released, fans commented on how Will looked like he was on the verge of tears throughout the video.

“I’m not sad a lot,” Will said in a followup video on YouTube. “I think because I drink so much coffee I get dehydrated and it makes my eyes water. People think I’m crying all the time and I’m not crying.”

Ultimately, Will’s red eyes had more to do with the time of day than the situation at hand.

“It was midnight,” Will continued, explaining what led to his red eyes during the Red Table Talk interview. “We were shooting at midnight because we were trying to rush and go to the airport in the morning.”
