Will The Miz Return to ‘The Challenge’? He Was Asked for ‘The Challenge: All Stars’

Mike "The Miz" Mizanin is known for his contributions to the WWE -- but prior to wrestling, he was known as being a reality TV star on 'The Real World' and MTV's 'The Challenge.' Would he ever return to 'The Challenge'? It seems he was already asked back for 'The Challenge: All Stars.'

Fans of MTV’s The Challenge likely remember “The Miz.” The contestant who started on reality TV (and whose real name is Michael Mizanin) is now known for his legendary status in the wrestling world. And there’s no doubt fans would love for The Miz to take a step back into the Challenge world and face the stiff competition for a chance at big money. So, would the pro wrestler ever consider joining The Challenge: All Stars?

‘The Miz’s ‘Real World’ start began before his WWE career

Before The Miz was known for his contributions to World Wrestling Entertainment, he got his start on The Real World. He first appeared on The Real World: Back to New York in 2001 and went on to more reality TV shows. So, what seasons of The Challenge was The Miz on? After The Real World, he competed on Battle of the Seasons, The Gauntlet, The Inferno, Battle of the Sexes 2, and The Inferno 2.

The Miz hasn’t competed on MTV’s The Challenge in years — and it seems his wrestling days might be numbered, too. Ringside News notes he officially spent 15 years in the WWE. But his future with his wrestling career remains uncertain. Back in June 2021, the pro told Sports Illustrated he was dealing with a torn ACL — and it seemed like he’d get back in the ring sooner rather than later. But fans still await his return.

“I’ll be out for a little bit of time,” he explained at the time of his injury. “I’ve seen that I’ll be out nine months. I don’t plan on being out nine months. I was on TV last Monday, and I’m going to be on TV every week.”

Will The Miz Return to ‘The Challenge’? He said he was too busy for ‘The Challenge: All Stars’ the first time

While The Miz’s WWE career might be far from over, is there any chance he’d pivot back to reality TV? Fans would love to see The Miz Return to The Challenge — though the most recent seasons of MTV’s The Challenge seem to cater to the younger and newer players. But The Challenge: All Stars might be the perfect fit for the wrestler. A number of familiar faces — including Mark Long, an original player — competed on season 1. And The Challenge: All Stars Season 2 is in the works.

As for The Miz’s future with the show, he told Heavy his schedule was too hectic for the first season. “As soon as [All Stars] got a little pickup, [Long] called me and was like, ‘Hey, will you do it?’” the wrestler said. “And I was like, ‘Look, with my schedule with WrestleMania, with WWE, with Miz & Mrs., with everything I have going on, I just don’t have the time.’”

Long then asked The Miz about guest-starring on the season — but coronavirus (COVID-19) protocol got in the way. ” …  the pandemic happened, and I just didn’t have 14 days to spare to quarantine to go there to actually guest host or even host,” he added. “So, I just didn’t have the time.”

While fans would love to see The Miz get back on MTV’s The Challenge, it’s uncertain if he’ll ever have the opportunity. Currently, testing and quarantining might still present a barrier for him to compete on The Challenge: All Stars Season 2. But we’ll never forget his wins of the past.

As for how many times The Miz won The Challenge, he came in first place on both Battle of the Seasons and The Inferno 2.
