Yellowstone season 4 is almost here. And when it does finally arrive on the Paramount Network in November, the story will pick up right where it left off in the explosive season 3 finale. As fans know, John (Kevin Costner), Beth (Kelly Reilly), and Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) were in some serious trouble when last season came to an end on a massive cliffhanger.

Here are four burning questions that fans need answered when Yellowstone season 4 premieres.

4. How will Garrett Randall’s arrival on ‘Yellowstone’ affect Jamie Dutton?

In season 3, Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) found out that he was adopted by John and Evelyn Dutton when he was just three months old. The story goes that Jamie’s biological father — Garrett Randall (Will Patton) — murdered his mother, and was then sent to prison.

After spending decades behind bars, Garrett is now a free man. And he had quite the impact on Jamie when they first met. Garrett told Jamie that he should be running the Dutton Ranch. And the only way to take over an empire is to “kill the king.”

Patton was promoted to series regular ahead of season 4, and he was heavily featured in the season’s teaser trailer. Garrett says, “Fair. Moral. Those are words men invented to scare and shame other men from taking back what they’ve stolen.” But “what about right or wrong?” Jamie asks, with his hand shaking as he holds a gun. “There’s no such thing,” Garrett replies.

3. Will Jamie’s secrets come out?

Jamie finding out about his adoption could have serious consequences for the family. But how much does Beth and Kayce already know about their brother?  Beth did tell her father that he would never love Jamie like he loves her and Kayce. So, maybe Beth does know Jamie is adopted.

Beth’s knowledge of Jamie’s adoption would add another layer to the feud between the siblings that began when he took her to the reservation to get an abortion when they were teens.

Fans also need to know if Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) will learn the truth about the cause of Beth and Jamie’s feud. Not only would Beth have to tell Rip that he got her pregnant at 15, but she would also have to tell him about the abortion. And, the fact that Jamie agreed to her sterilization without her consent.

2. Who survived the season 3 ‘Yellowstone’ finale?

This question is one fans have been discussing ever since season 3 ended in August 2020. The finale saw John, Beth, and Kayce under attack and fighting for their lives. And it didn’t look like anyone would make it out alive.

As the episode came to a close, John was lying on the side of the road after being shot by an unknown gunman. Beth was in her office when a bomb went off a few feet away. And Kayce was running for cover behind his desk while gunmen stormed his office. Is it possible one of the Duttons won’t make it to season 4?

1. Who was behind the attacks on John, Beth, and Kayce Dutton?

The biggest question that fans need answered when Yellowstone season 4 finally premieres is who was responsible for the attacks on John, Beth, and Kayce. The two most popular fan theories have been that it was either Roarke (Josh Holloway) and Market Equities or Jamie Dutton. Could it be possible that the culprit is someone fans don’t expect at all?
