‘Yellowstone’ Fans Think They Have Uncovered Exactly When Season 4 Will Finally Premiere

The Paramount Network has yet to announce a premiere date, and ‘Yellowstone’ is nowhere to be found on the schedule they have released through the end of June. Still, some fans are convinced that they have uncovered exactly when season 4 of ‘Yellowstone’ will finally premiere.

Yellowstone fans have been eagerly awaiting the season 4 premiere. But those who expected it to happen this month will be extremely disappointed. The Paramount Network has yet to announce a premiere date, and Yellowstone is nowhere to be found on the schedule they have released through the end of June.

Still, some fans are convinced that they have uncovered exactly when season 4 of Yellowstone will finally premiere.

‘Yellowstone’ traditionally begins each season in June

The very first season of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone premiered on the Paramount Network on June 20, 2018. This seemingly started a tradition of June season premieres, as season 2 hit TV screens on June 19, 2019. While season 3 premiered on June 21, 2020.

This history of June premieres led fans to assume that season 3 would premiere on June 20, 2021. Yellowstone fan pages made artwork that claimed this premiere date, and countdown clocks were created. But when the Paramount Network released their schedule for that day, there was no Yellowstone. Instead, it’s a full day of Bar Rescue reruns, with a new episode of that series premiering in the evening.

The Paramount Network remains quiet

Aside from the occasional Instagram posts that feature pics and clips of the different Yellowstone characters, there has been zero social media activity from the Paramount Network series. There’s been no promotion for season 4, no teasers or trailers, and they’ve yet to announce a season premiere date.

The only news that’s been shared concerns the Yellowstone spinoffs – Y:1883 and 6666. Those series will be part of the new streaming platform Paramount+ when they premiere.  However, there’s no details about casting or premiere dates. We do know that Y:1883 will tell the story of John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) ancestors settling the valley and starting the Yellowstone ranch. Meanwhile, 6666 will head south to Texas and focus on the Four Sixes Ranch.

‘Yellowstone’ fans think they’ve finally figured out when season 4 will premiere

When Good Housekeeping attempted to get a premiere date for season 4 out of a Paramount Network rep, they responded by saying they had “nothing to share.” However, Yellowstone fans on Reddit are pretty sure that the show is waiting to premiere until after the Olympics. This is just a theory, and there’s absolutely no proof to back it up. But it does make sense to wait until after a ratings juggernaut like the Olympics is over.

There is a very telling post on social media, however, that explains why Yellowstone season 4 won’t premiere in June. A Facebook post by Yellowstone Montana Extras in late May revealed that they were still filming season 4.

The Facebook post reads, “Hello Montana!! We will be back for a 2-day shoot in June!! This is a protest scene that we had to cancel last year due to snow. If you are available & fit the categories please submit!”

Viewers are starting to voice their frustration

Since season 3 of Yellowstone ended in August 2020, fans have been expecting a June premiere. Now they are figuring out that the wait is far from over, and many are starting to voice their frustration on social media.

“I get excited every time I see there’s a new post, thinking ok this is it, announcing the date.. then nope, not getting it.. need that date like months ago 😢,” one disappointed fan wrote.

Another added, “Life is cruel right now cause we don’t have an official date.😩.”

Season 3 of ‘Yellowstone’ had a shocking ending

The reason fans are so eager for season four is because of the shocking cliffhanger in season 3. In the final moments of the finale, John Dutton was shot on the side of the road. Meanwhile, his daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) had a bomb explode in her office. And armed, masked men stormed into his son Kayce’s (Luke Grimes) office.

It’s unclear who lived and who died. It’s also not clear who was behind the attacks. It could be Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), or it could be Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway) and Market Equities. No matter who’s guilty, it looks like fans will have to wait a lot longer to find out the truth.

Seasons 1 through 3 of Yellowstone are available on Peacock.
