‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff: Which Cowboys Will Leave the Dutton Ranch to Join ‘6666’

The ‘Yellowstone’ universe is growing with the Texas-set ‘6666.’ Taylor Sheridan created the latest spinoff based on the famous Four Sixes Ranch. Which is a place ‘where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge’ and ‘the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing.’

The Yellowstone universe is expanding and heading south to Texas. The Paramount Network has revealed that the spin-off 6666 is in the works.

As a result, reports have emerged claiming some characters will leave the flagship series and join the new one. Is it possible some cowboys will leave the Dutton Ranch for 6666?

The new ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff is about word class cowboys and the finest horses in the world

It was announced at the recent ViacomCBS investor presentation that the Yellowstone universe would be expanding after creator Taylor Sheridan signed a new deal reportedly worth nine figures.

Sheridan’s new content will include the series 6666, which is about the famous Four Sixes Ranch in Texas. This is a place “where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge” and “the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing.”

“The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made,” the series description reads.

Taylor Sheridan wanted to make a Texas-focused series

Paramount has not revealed exactly how the Duttons of Yellowstone will connect to the story of 6666. Sheridan did say on the Four Sixes Ranch website that he wanted to represent his home state.

“Being a Texan today and what it means to live in Texas — there’s a responsibility that comes with it, in that you really do represent the entire state,” he explained. “Everybody in Texas always represents the state. And so, there’s a sense of class and confidence that I think every Texan seems to embody.”

According to David Glasser — the CEO of 101 Studios — there will be new faces in the Texas-based spinoff. In a statement, he said the new series would be “introducing new characters and storylines alongside world-class talent and creators.”

Will any of the ‘Yellowstone’ cowboys head south?

The Paramount Network has yet to reveal any casting news. But according to Cinema Blend, Jefferson White and Ryan Bingham are set to appear in the new series as Walker and Jimmy Hurdstrom. However, it was unclear if they would be leaving Yellowstone.

It’s possible that Walker and Jimmy could just make a cameo in the new series. Or, maybe they will somehow be a part of both shows. One outlet does claim that the two recurring characters are leaving Yellowstone in season 4. While another suggests that 6666 is rumored to be featuring “characters from the flagship series.”

It’s not certain that Jimmy Hurdstrom will survive

All of this casting news is pure speculation at the moment. As fans know, it’s not even certain that Jimmy Hurdstrom will make it to season 4 of Yellowstone. During the season 3 finale, Jimmy was bucked off a horse for a second time.

John Dutton (Kevin Costner) advised Jimmy to give up his rodeo dreams. It looks like he should have listened. The last time fans saw Jimmy, he was unconscious on the ground. During a recent interview with TV Insider, White wouldn’t share any details about his character’s fate. But, he did make a big promise about the upcoming season.

According to White, the upcoming season of Yellowstone has been shot and it’s the best one ever.

“It’s incredible. I think Season 4 is the best season yet,” White revealed. “We shot it all in Montana, and that really has a transformative effect. I really think it’s an incredible season.”

White also told his fans on Instagram that he couldn’t reveal what happens next. But, he promised it was “worth the wait.”

ViacomCBS has not yet revealed a premiere date for 6666 on Paramount+. The first three seasons of Yellowstone are available on Peacock. Season 4 is expected to premiere in June on the Paramount Network.
