Yvette Nicole Brown to Lizzo Over ‘Twitter Boyfriend’ Chris Evans’ DM: ‘The Boy Is Mine’

Chris Evans is in the middle of a Twitter love triangle after sending Lizzo a sweet DM. Yvette Nicole Brown calls The Avengers  star her “Twitter boyfriend.” And after seeing his exchange with Lizzo, she wanted to let the pop star know, “The Boy Is Mine.”

Brown, who is known for playing Shirley Bennet on the NBC sitcom, Community, first met Evans in 2017 while filming a cameo for Avengers: Endgame. She portrayed Phyllis Jenkins, a 1970s  SHIELD agent who encounters Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in an elevator after they travel back in time.

“I am so honored to be in that space with those two literal superheroes,” Brown told Entertainment Weekly in 2020. “In real life and as human beings, they are both lovely.” 

And when talking about Evans, Brown revealed her admiration. “I adore him,” she said. “It’s my Twitter boyfriend, by the way. I don’t know if you guys know.”

Brown uses Twitter quite often. And in a June 2020 tweet, she tagged Evans in an edited clip of Avengers: Endgame.

 “Dear Twitter BF @ChrisEvans, folks wanna make sure you, in particular, have seen this!:” she wrote, to which Evans replied, “I have now :) it’s fantastic!!! Thank you for sharing it with me.”

Brown has since been pretty clear about her Twitter relationship with Evans. When someone suggested he was her “internet boyfriend,” Brown clarified, “Not the whole internet, just twitter. Right @ChrisEvans?” Evans quickly replied, confirming her sentiment with a two heart emojis. 

Lizzo sent Chris Evans drunken DMs

Lizzo is quite active on TikTok. And in a recent video, she revealed that she sent Evans an emoji-filled message suggesting she was shooting her shot. 

“Don’t drink and DM, kids…. for legal porpoises this is a joke,” Lizzo captioned the initial TikTok video. She shared the screenshot over Tatayanna Mitchell’s audio clip which says,  “The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not gonna be able to marry him. And honestly, it hurts me to the core. Because damn papa, he a rare breed, no comparing. Like, Chris…”

But much to Lizzo’s surprise, Evans responded to her DM. “No shame in a drunk DM,” he wrote. “God knows I’ve done worse on this app lol.”  

Lizzo shared a screenshot of Evans’ message in a followup TikTok. And while screaming and rejoicing,  she also revealed that the Marvel star follows her on Instagram.

After seeing Lizzo and Evans’ exchange, Brown jumped in to let the pop star know she’s stepping into her territory. “Dear @ChrisEvans and @Lizzo, this is super cute and I’m gon’ let y’all finish but first: Alexa play: ‘The Boy is Mine’ REAL loud at Lizzo’s house,” she tweeted.

Of course, Brown’s tweet was all in good fun. And in a follow up, she shared a photo of herself with Lizzo and noted how much she loves the singer. 

“And lest there be any doubt, we good!” Brown added. “#AllJokes I love me some @Lizzo!”
