Zachery Ty Bryan has stayed largely out of the spotlight since ending his run on Home Improvement back in 1999, but that all changed this week. In the early morning hours of Oct. 17, Bryan was accused of assault by his girlfriend. The alleged incident occurred inside his Eugene, Oregon home. The reported incident occurred just two short weeks after the former child star announced the end of his 13-year marriage. Not long after, an eagle-eyed Twitter user noticed that Bryan’s Instagram divorce announcement was a rip off of a much more highly publicized celebrity divorce announcement.

Zachery Ty Bryan revealed that he was ending his marriage in October 2020

On Oct. 1, Bryan took to Instagram to inform his followers that he and his wife, Carly Matros, had decided to end their marriage. The high school sweethearts married in 2007 and share four children, including a set of twins.

While Bryan has largely been out of the spotlight since Home Improvement ended in 1999, he still has over 35,000 followers on Instagram. In what seemed like a heartfelt message, Bryan informed his fans that after “nearly 14 years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents” he and Mastros had decided to “turn the page.”

Hammer and Chambers made the announcement via social media, with both posting the same caption to photos of them as a couple. Together they wrote, “Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents. It has been an incredible journey, but together we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage.” The caption also asked fans to respect their privacy and the privacy of their children.

Zachery Ty Bryan stole Armie Hammer’s divorce announcement word for word

Casey Cline, a social media influencer, was the first to notice that Bryan’s divorce announcement looked familiar. After some digging, they figured out that Bryan had stolen Hammer’s social media announcement, almost word for word. The only thing he seemed to change was the amount of time he and his soon-to-be-ex had been a couple.

Most followers probably wouldn’t have noticed Bryan’s plagiarized divorce announcement. Hammer announced the end of his marriage in July, while Bryan and Matros announced their split on Oct. 1. However, Bryan has found himself in some legal trouble, bringing the announcement into the spotlight. Bryan has since deleted the Instagram post.
