‘1000-lb Roomies’: Could These Besties Be TLC’s Newest Stars?
Move over, Tammy and Amy Slaton. TLC is introducing its latest pair of supersized reality stars in the new series, 1000-lb Roomies.
Jasmine (aka “Jaz”) and Nesha are the focus of the third addition to the network’s 1000-lb franchise, which also includes 1000-lb Sisters and 1000-lb Best Friends. The two best friends and roommates “are each other’s ride-or-die and co-conspirators in laughter, snacks and survival,” according to TLC. Now, these two vibrant personalities are embarking “on a mission to reclaim their health.”
‘1000-lb Roomies’ premieres in June 2025 on TLC
“We’re both a little extra,” Nesha says in the trailer (via YouTube) for the new show, which premieres June 10. “Nearly a thousand pounds extra.”
But just because Jaz and Nesha are BFFs doesn’t mean that they always see eye-to-eye.
“We love each other like sisters, but that does not mean that we agree on everything,” Nesha says.
One area where Jaz and Nesha differ is their approach to weight loss. Jaz is ready to turn over a new leaf and make a lasting change in her life.
“We’ve tried so many things to lose weight,” she says. “Now, it’s time to get busy.”
Her motivation to lose weight and get healthy is deeply personal. She has a young daughter and is terrified of leaving her without her mother.
“I’m all my daughter has. I have to be here for her,” Jaz declares.
Jaz’s life is at stake if she does not have weight-loss surgery, doctor says

The stakes could not be higher. Jaz’s health is at serious risk if she does not lose weight, leading her to consider bariatric surgery despite being terrified of the procedure.
“If Jasmine doesn’t undergo the surgery, most likely she will not survive for long,” her doctor says.
Jaz’s health problems are “a wake-up call,” Nesha admits. But she’s still not ready to consider surgery for herself.
“I want to lose weight, but that doesn’t mean I have to be stuck on the scale all the time,” she tells Jaz.
As Jaz’s heath problems reach a critical point, both she and Nesha have to face a tough reality.
“Nesha, I’m scared,” Jaz says in a video call from her hospital bed. “What if I’m never going to be able to walk again?”
“As roles shift and tensions rise, the pair must navigate new boundaries, old habits, and the weight of what’s at stake,” TLC says in its description of the show. “The decision to change their lives and embark on this endeavor will test their commitment, willpower, and unbreakable bond in unimaginable ways, but through it all, they will always have each other’s backs.”
“1000-Lb Roomies is a perfect addition to TLC’s lineup, as we continue to showcase incredible transformational journeys and celebrate big, lovable personalities who wear their hearts on their sleeves and open up in authentic and vulnerable ways,” said Alon Orstein, Senior Vice President of Production and Development for TLC. “We can’t wait for our audience to get to know Jaz and Nesha. Their infectious energy brings emotion, laughter, and fun, along with an incredible determination to change their lives, no matter the odds.”
1000-lb Roomies premieres Tuesday, June 19 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
