2 of Aaron Rodgers’ Famous Ex-Girlfriends Swore They Didn’t Know What the NFL Star Did Before They Dated Him
Even if you’re not a sports fan, chances are you know who Aaron Rodgers is. He has been a quarterback in the NFL for 20 seasons, won a Super Bowl, is a future Hall of Famer, had his family drama aired out on reality TV, guest-hosted Jeopardy, and dated some Hollywood stars.
But a couple of Rodgers’ exes claimed that they didn’t know what the quarterback did before they started dating him.
Here’s just how little these famous women said they knew about the athlete, plus what Rodgers revealed about his new girlfriend.

People are usually skeptical when those who are in the public eye themselves swear they haven’t heard of or don’t know anything about other very high-profile people. But that’s what two of Rodgers’ most famous ex-girlfriends claimed.
Rodgers began seeing actor Olivia Munn in 2014. A year into their relationship, the X-Men: Apocalypse star confessed that she “had no idea” who he was.
During an interview with Conan O’Brien, Munn recalled: “I said, ‘So what do you do?’ And he said, ‘Oh I play football.’ ‘Cool. What college?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, no. I play professional.’ And I was like, ‘Cool, what position?’ ‘Quarterback.’ ‘Cool.'”
She added: “All I saw was that he was like really attractive. I didn’t really care what he did.”
The two called it quits in 2017. And a few years later, we learned that Munn isn’t the only one of Rodgers’ exes who didn’t know what he did. Another famous woman said she wasn’t too familiar with him either.
Unlike Munn, Divergent actor Shailene Woodley, who was engaged to Rodgers before they split in 2022, had heard of the signal-caller. She knew he was a “football guy,” but because she never watched sports she didn’t understand how good he was.
In 2021, Woodley was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and the host asked about her relationship with A-Rod.
“I never thought I’d be engaged to someone who threw balls for a living,” the Big Little Lies star joked. “I never thought as a little girl, ‘Yeah, when I grow up I’m going to marry someone who throws balls, yeah!’ But he’s really just so go good at it. I’m very impressed.”
Woodley continued: “Before I met him, I’d never seen one football game. When we met, I knew he was a football guy, but I didn’t know what kind of football guy he was. I don’t know him as a football guy … He just happens to also be very good at sports.”
What the ladies admitted about their knowledge or lack thereof of the quarterback may be true but to some, it sounds a little like Meghan Markle saying she didn’t know much of anything about Prince Harry before they met or Jonathan Owens saying he had no idea who his wife Simone Biles was before they got together.
Rodgers confirmed that he did not date a famous pop star
Today, Rodgers is officially off the market after revealing during Steelers minicamp that he is a married man. But we don’t know much about the identity of his partner, just her name and that she is not pop star Britney Spears.
Back when he began dating his future wife, Rodgers appeared on an episode of The Pat McAfee Show, and when he talked about holiday shopping let it slip that he was in a relationship, saying: “I actually ordered all of [my Christmas gifts] online this year. I was a little worried because there was one package left for my girlfriend, Brittani, that hadn’t shown up yet. So I’ve been waiting on this to show up, and it showed up today.”
McAfee’s co-host A.J. Hawk then pressed for more details on the mystery woman asking if he was dating Spears, to which Rodgers grinned and replied: “Not Britney Spears, this is Brittani with an ‘i.’”
