After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020, the pair moved to California to live what many thought would be a quiet life away from the spotlight. But that didn’t happen.

Instead, the couple began to air out their grievances in interviews. They continued firing verbal grenades at the royal family in more sit-down interviews and podcasts, a Netflix docuseries, and Harry’s memoir Spare. But fast-forward to 2026, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were moving back to the U.K., closer to the family they trashed for years.

Now it’s being reported that despite everything the prince previously said and wrote, Harry is outright refusing to talk about certain royals.

Prince William Is Refusing to Acknowledge Prince Harry and Meghan’s Existence

During a recent paid sit-down chat with Dr. Mary-Frances O’Connor, a neuroscientist on grief and mental health, the duke would not say anything at all about three royals specifically.

A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, “Harry was willing to talk about Diana, grief, and losing his mother. What he wasn’t willing to discuss was [Prince] William, Catherine, or Uncle Andrew. Those subjects were off-limits.”

The Duke of Sussex has rarely ever said anything about the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, but some are wondering why the sudden change after he was more than happy while living in Montecito to air out the Prince and Princess of Wales’ alleged dirty laundry.

The insider explained, “Harry has already told much of his story. Diana remains the one subject audiences will always pay to hear him discuss. Harry isn’t selling royal secrets this time. He’s selling his own memories. And those memories are worth a quarter of a million dollars … The guarantee was $250,000, and for that money, he agreed to discuss his mother, Princess Diana.”

This follows another report that now that Harry and Meghan are back in the U.K., they realize they went too far with some of their attacks and would like to offer William and Princess Kate an apology.

According to Express, the Sussexes want to apologize for some of their claims and the hurt they caused, telling the publication, “Harry and Meghan have always known since they decided to return to the U.K. that they would need to eat humble pie. Their one big regret about leaving the royal family for the U.S. was their interview with Oprah, and Meghan knows her biggest mistake was her claim that a royal family member had discussed Archie’s skin color.

“Harry was angry with his family at the time, and backed Meghan up, but they now realize what a low blow it was. They both know they’re hot-headed, and realize they took things too far, and they should have kept quiet. They want to focus on the future and are hoping that will include a reconciliation at some point. They really want a sit-down so they can address what they said, and Meghan will apologize.”

The Waleses have not commented on the Sussexes’ return.
