Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Recent TV Appearance Sparks Surgery and Ozempic Rumors
Catherine Zeta-Jones’ name has been in the headlines a lot recently. She’s been busy promoting her latest TV project, Kill Jackie, which is a crime thriller that follows a wealthy former drug trafficker whose carefully constructed life is threatened when a group of assassins target her. Beyond that series, Zeta-Jones has several other projects in the works, including The Gallerist, a film slated for a December 2026 theatrical release, and the Netflix series Wednesday, expected to return for its third season in 2027.
The Welsh actress‘s name has also made news after her husband, Michael Douglas, released his memoir, One Helluva Ride, in which he revealed the neighborly, and possibly romantic, connection Zeta-Jones and basketball legend Kobe Bryant had in the ’90s.
Zeta-Jones posted about Bryant following his death in 2020, sharing, “24 years ago, ironically, Kobe was my next door neighbor in Pacific Palisades in LA … We met the day he moved in through his dog, that started to, and continued to wander into my garden. His basketball court was my view. I watched his talent and dedication, yet how could I have known that he was to become what he became. Being a Daddy today took his life and that of his precious daughter. Unimaginable loss to all. Love to the families.”
During her recent appearances for her promotional tour, fans noticed that the star is looking very thin, and that has prompted many to opine that she’s had surgery or is on Ozempic now.
“Viral ozempic effect in Hollywood … sad to see sickeningly thin actors and actresses these days,” one user wrote.
“Can we stop glamorizing too skinny?” another commented.
Others chimed in, writing: “Does not look good,” “She looks so scary too much plastic surgery,” and “Too thin,” with a crying emoji.
Her Oct. 8 appearance on the TODAY Show, when she stood up to show Al Roker the “Morticia Addams walk,” also became a talking point, garnering tons of comments about her new weight.
“Another one that’s succumbed to the ozempic/mounjaro needle,” one user claimed. A second added, “So thin. Really unappealing.”
“Tooooo skinny!!!” a third person opined, while a fourth posted, “Another victim of anorexic look using ozempic overuse.”
“Why?????why!!” a fifth person questioned. “She used to be fresh with a very nice figure. Why women like so much this kind of body.”
Another asked, “What are these women doing to themselves? Is being painfully thin really the new definition of beauty? It’s disturbing how extreme these beauty standards have become?”
Some called it “The Oprah Effect,” while others just commented with the word “Ozempic.”
