How Khadijah Haqq and Bobby McCray Met
Khadijah Haqq might have spent years being known as Khloe Kardashian’s friend, but that close friendship didn’t stop her from finding love. Haqq met Bobby McCray in 2007, when they both happened to be at the same club. Sparks flew on the dance floor, and the pair kicked off their romance from there.
They dated for several years, and the romance appeared to be incredibly stable, despite their hectic work schedules. McCray was playing in the NFL when he first spotted Haqq, having entered the league in 2004. She was keeping close ties to California at the time. Despite a handful of trades over the course of his career, he and Haqq kept their romance intact, and he ultimately retired from football in 2010 after seven seasons.
They Married and Started a Family
The same year that Bobby McCray called it quits on the NFL, he started a new position as husband. Haqq and McCray married in 2010 in Los Angeles. Khloe Kardashian, along with Khadijah’s twin, Malika, were part of the wedding party.
Over the course of their marriage, Khadijah and Bobby welcomed three children together: Christian, Celine, and Kapri. Khadijah also became a stepmother to Bobby’s son from a previous relationship. On August 18, 2023, Khadijah announced that she and Bobby were ending their marriage after 13 years together. In an emotional Instagram post, she wrote that she had been “relying on prayer” more than ever, calling the decision an “intensely difficult conclusion,” and emphasizing that despite still having “a great deal of love for one another,” she and Bobby had decided it was best to move forward separately.
She noted the decision wasn’t made lightly, and that the couple had intentionally kept their relationship private over the years “for the benefit of our family.” She added that she was sharing the news not because she believed it was newsworthy, but so the couple could move forward honestly as they began co-parenting their children. She did not share a reason for the split. McCray did not issue a public statement.
The Divorce Filing
While Khadijah Haqq announced her split from Bobby McCray in 2023, she did not immediately file. In fact, it took an entire year for either party to make a move. Eventually, in August 2024, McCray filed for divorce. He cited “irreconcilable differences,” a standard reason, for the split.
TMZ obtained copies of the filing. In the paperwork, Bobby requested joint legal and physical custody of their children. While the split initially seemed amicable, recent reports suggest the pair might be arguing over finances. The divorce has not yet been finalized.
